OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD. i hope to hell that this is true and isn't a case of realgm getting it wrong and every other site going off of them. mitch should win executive of the freaking decade of this has happened. this is the best news i have heard since the lakers signed malone and payton, but this will almost definitely have a much more positive result than that debacle.
YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I'm still in shock. And awed. I'm Shocked and Awed. And who knew Kwame Brown would not only snag you a Caron Butler, but a Pau Gasol as well? |

This will be a year long remembered in the Laker Empire...
It saw the departure of Cook and Kwame, and the arrival of Gasol!
To think it all seemed to be coming apart at the seams a few months ago... |

This is awesome news, Lakers look like they should with Gasol. Was saying all summer that I would rather see Gasol here instead of Jermaine O'Neal.
The price paid is awesome for the Lakers too, giving up everyone's favourite center, Kwame, two 1st round picks and Javaris for Gasol is good. Sad to see Critts leave, always liked him from the moment he was drafted but Farmar is still around so no major damage.
I guess it's good that the Lakers broke their rule on not making trades during the season, first getting Ariza and getting rid of Brian Cook was a good move and now to pull off this trade for Gasol is unbelievable.
Got to credit Mitch Kupchak, has an awful lot of critics, myself included but on these moves, I have to credit what he has done. _________________ "This is a comptitive city. Im just glad we didnt give up Farmar, and still pulled off a huge trade! Feel kinda bad for J-Critt, but for Gasol, all i can say is Cheer up Crab Man! You'll get more playing time in Memphis. |

I just really can't express how happy I am. I haven't been able to sit still for the last two hours. Just been freaking SHAKING! SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE!
Lakers are the favorites after this trade. No doubt about it. _________________ Jeffs

Question!!!
This could mean...
LO moving back down to the 3 spot when Drew comes back...
So whats gonna happen with the glut of SF's---LO, the Rza, Luke, and VladRad???
Are they expendable?
Looks good on paper.....but how do we match up with San Antone and the Suns now???
Mitch held other GM's (Orl & Memphis) @gunpoint with these jack moves!!!
Rejoice!!!!!!!!!! |

I just called Mitch's office line and left a voice mail for him. I told him that I wanted to thank him on behalf of all Laker fans for bringing our team back to prominence! I said that all of us Lakers fans are going nuts right now and it's thanks to him! |

I can actually see LO being traded now, which is an awesome side effect of acquiring Gasol. Before, I just wanted LO gone, but couldnt see it happening due to our front court issues. Now? It seems like a real possibility.
I'm so happy |

2008 lineup as constructed by Mitch Kupchak:
PG: Jordan Farmar/Derek Fisher
SG: Kobe Bryant/Sasha Vujacic/
SF: Lamar Odom/Trevor Ariza/Luke Walton
PF: Pau Gasol/Vladamir Radmanovic
C: Andrew Bynum/Ronny Turiaf
Now that's a LONG starting lineup! Every single player a Mitch product except Kobe! Get Er Done.... _________________ I'm On point, On task, On message, and Off drugs.
