PHX SUX are pissing in their pants

now they are suggesting Marion and Diaw to Miami for Shaq!!! hahahah

but even if that deal does come true, should LA be scared of Shaq and Amare?

that is exactly what i thought is going to happen now -

i think the spurs will offer barry's expiring contract and filler + their 1st rd pick for mike miller.

makes all the sense in the world if you consider how cheap gasol went for in return for cap space.

and when that happens - the spurs will be a much improved basketball team.
miller is absolutly deadly.
i wish we could do something to prevent that like odom to a third team for miller etc - but if we had any intention of doing it it would have already happend in the gasol deal...

man, i hope i'm wrong, but i really think miller for barry is imminent.

if spurs get miller, we have to get rid of odumb for artest to counter

ALSO...

this is a quote from a dallas fan after the gasol trade:

"Kidd or not, we have to make a move to stay alive in the West and in the Association... I just suggested a Stack, Terry, Diop for Mike Miller, Warrick and Darko. It works on the RealGM trade machine."

"why does it seem like only teams that are historically dominant can pull off trades like this? i bet if the mavs offer something similar they laugh at us"

more comic relief

"Um, It still doesn't make the Lakers better than the Mavs. Is he an upgrade over Kwame? ABSOLUTELY.

Will he be able to play the 4 while Bynum plays the 5? no way in hell.

Dirk can guard Gasol. But Gasol can't guard Dirk. Not even remotely well. "

History shows that the only real BIG deal that occurs during a fire sale is the FIRST one. If Miller is dealt, it'll be for something useful in return (i.e. a competent young player and high draft pick) the Cap relief portion of the fire sale is DONE for Memphis. They are already an attractive commodity from a "For Sale" standpoint. Miller could very well be dealt (very good chance), but it won't be for the likes of just Brent Barry, so no worries about him landing with the Spurs or Suns.....

keep them coming guys.....im loving this.

Im not so sure that a miller type move solves the problem for the spurs. Even in games when Finley or barry would go off from downtown we were still able to hang with them. The issue with them will still be that duncan doesnt like to go against size. Now having bynum and gasol to deal with will give him nightmares. Him and a lot of other teams in this league.

Why can't the Mavs make one of those trades where they give up magic beans for an All Star talent?

Quote:
You can' even get into the Lakers forum. Their service is overloaded right now.

Quote:
Rumor now on ESPN radio is that the Grizz will buy out and waive Kwame and he's going back to LA

Quote:
as i recall you can no longer resign a player that you traded away and was waived by the team he was traded to...stern but an end to this after payton when back to boston a few years ago, among others

Quote:
Oh, well nm then. Well if they waive him, maybe Mavs should jump in? Kwame plays good post defense

denver wants :

"If we go now, we can still get Rudy for JR while they are still high."

and denver doesnt want to face LA first round if they win divison.

Sac town mad:

"How is Williams/Hawes/Wright/OUR mid first round pick NOT a better deal than that load of garbage the Lakers put together."

GS are crying too...LOL

"This is bad news for the Jazz. Farmer, Kobe, Odom, Walton and Gasol make for a very formidable lineup. They could very well win the West now."

ummm did he forget about our Drew Ronny Ariza and Rad before walton?

Unbelievable! Now LA will get Lebron for A.Mackie+picks?

Lakers: Hello, Grizzlies, we'd like to trade you Crittenton, whom many commentators are high on, the rights to Gasol's brother (so your fans don't need to buy new jerseys), and two future firsts in exchange for Mr. Gasol.

Grizzlies: Hmm... I don't know.

Lakers: We'll throw in Kwame Bust.

Grizzlies: That sweetens the pot enough that we'll do it!

I bet that's exactly how it went down.

Here's a sample of what Rockets fans are saying:

What a ******* steal for the Lakers. Amazing.

Another reason to hate the Lakers.

Jerry West is still a Laker.... ****

holy ****

best deal eva

this is going to make the lakers a contender

damn, not good news for us

Quote:
Quote:
wow, as if it wasnt tought enough for us to get back int he playoff pic, now the lakers gotta get gasol. dayum. well at least pau can see how the playoffs are like on an actual team, specially w/ the best player in the game.

Quote:
Quote:
Man thats some BS, Pau for **** expirings and first round picks that will be in the 20+ range, memphis got absolutely robbed. We can forget about the Lakers missing the playoffs now.

Quote:
Quote:
Is This A **** JOKE! i mean, were trying to get back in the playoff picture and now this! what a bs!

Quote:
Quote:
The Lakers are relevant again. Damnit

Quote:
Quote:
bynum / gasol / odom / kobe / fisher ... wow -- at least now when GS/Por/Utah/Den play the lakers, lakers will be favored. but if we catch LA in round one t-mac can forget about the second round.

Quote:
Quote:
Oh my God.

Why does God hate the Rockets?

Quote:
Quote:
It's not even the Lakers falling out of playoff contention...they have a very legitimate shot at winning the championship now.

Anyone got rope?

Quote:
Quote:
Does anyone at this point still think we're a championship contender? I honestly don't, and I can't see anyone else thinking so.

I'll be satisfied with sneaking into the playoffs as a 6-8 seed and then stunning our favored opponent. That would mean progress and get the "no playoff wins" gorilla off McGrady's, Yao's, and the Rockets' backs. We can try to contend for the title next year.

welcome to the world of reality
this is what we are going to get too if we are trading T-Mac
basically just expired contract, some unproven youngster, and pick

Wow ... all these quotes are priceless.

It's good to see that the rest of the NBA fan base is as stoked about this trade as we are.

From a boston forum Celtic Fans thoughts

Definitely a good pick up by LA.

"Now I am thinking that they are going to go after jason Kidd.

With Gasol on Board, Bynam could be traded. I do not see how both Bynan and Gasol wil be able to play together. One would probably come off the bench or be traded.

Does LA have enough assets to make a run at Kidd???

With the injury problem to Krstic they (NJ) needs a center. Hmmm!"

Dboss

"I don't know.

He blew out his knee, and he was as soft as ice cream before that.

He's a good shooter, but he's not a defender.

That lineup doesn't look like a championship team to me.

And they gave up two first round picks for him.

They should have gone after Kidd."

LOL

i feel bad for them, but hey, thats what they get for getting T-Wack

Personally, I dont hate TMac. I just didnt like his attitude problem he was having with Orlando before he left.

Not to mention, it was sad to see him and Yao along side Shane Battie loose to a team that wasnt near as talents (Jazz)

From Yahoo! Sports:
Around the league, the reaction of executives and coaches was unanimous: What a nightmare for us. When reached with the news, one Western Conference executive said simply, “Are you kidding? (Expletive) me.”
