Quote:
"We are thinking championship," said Lakers backup guard Sasha Vujcic, who finished with 12 points. "We have been kind of quiet. Everybody has been talking about us behind Phoenix, San Antonio and the other good teams. But with Pau coming, he knows that we know we really have a chance."

Also:

Quote:
"Kobe's the best in the game right now, hands down," Butler said of his former Lakers teammate. "When a guy like that gets rolling, you are trying to stop one of the best players ever, and we weren't able to. He had good rhythm going and all the other guys were hitting shots as well.

"Kobe is playing magnificently, and with the addition of Pau Gasol, they are going to be great."

I think it's kind of funny that that type of comment is coming from Sasha.. you know your confidence is at an all-time high when the role players are talking championship.

Sasha never back down from anything. This guy must get on opposition's nerves bigtime. He's worth resigning just so he can piss people off.

Always loved Caron. can you imagine how much better this team would be if the Lakers had traded LO for Kwame instead.

I wish we had Caron. We would be absolutely invincible with Caron at the SF spot.

Fisher
Kobe
Caron
Gasol
Bynum

Get the (bleep) OUT OF HERE with that lineup.

I liked Caron Butler too. However, now that Kwame has been converted into trade bait for Pau Gasol, it's hard to complain. The players obtained in the Shaq trade plus some draft picks have converted into Pau Gasol, AB, LO, Farmar, Sasha, Ronny, Ariza and Luke. Kwame was just a phase of rebuilding. If you look at the overall results, it's quite impressive.

Gasol >>> Butler, so this trade ended up being fantastic.

Makes no sense because we wouldn't have Pau without trading Kwame for him.

I think he means he wishes we had traded Odom for Kwame instead .

I'd still rather have J-Smooth instead of Caron but either way

That one got Kobe laughing as well. It happened not long after Kobe did the airplane thing. Nice to see a couple of friends enjoy going up against one another (especially when we're winning).

I'd swear we were watching the Jazz or an 80's Celtics squad.

Lol [AT] Sasha's incorrect sentence. Caron seems like a really nice guy, good sportsmanship and making kid's wishes come true. I used to think he was mean because he said he would make all the teams that passed over him pay. Seemed kind of aggressive.

When is Caron Butler's contract expiring? What are the odds he'll come back to the Lakers for a minimum contract just to play with Kobe and win?

His contract vs. his production right now is pretty low. I think he'll look to get a max contract after this one expires.

Butler: $8,218,990, $8,999,980, $9,780,970, $10,561,960
