Fisher-
Knows the triangle
Best Friends With Kobe
PJ Loves Him
Tough Defender
Can shoot the 0.4 second shot

Anderson:
Multi-guard
Comes great in clutch situations
Great if he is healthy
Good Defender
Shoots the 3-Ball well
Good fit for Lakers, Kobe

In another case, we can always grab
Lue:
Played With Lakers Before
Knows Triangle
Can Shut Down Players, Amazing Defender
Quick
Can shoot well

Personally, I think we should get Lue (and maybe release Sasha). Then, we should see who drops. I think both (D-Fish and DA) would be great players on our team. Question with D-Fish is: Is he able to really go into that starting role again? Question with DA is will he play? He only played 47 games last year, and 51 before that.

I think it will come down to who gets dropped, and maybe who gets dropped first. We can always go after Lue (and we still have Smash), but if both DA and Fisher arn't dropped, we should go after them via Sign and Trade.

I can imagine a backcourt: DA or DFish/Lue/Smush/Sasha(?)

Well of course...if we can't get anybody....

Why not both? The only way we would be able to pick up DA or Fish would be if they get waived under the "amnesty" rule (aka Alan Houston Rule).

That being said, D. Fish would be good coming off the bench, much like when we won our first championship.

Only question in my mind is how good DA's ball handling and dribbling skills are. From seeing him play on the Clips and in Portland, I'm not convinced that he's that great of a ball handler. I could be wrong, but just curious if anybody has further viewpoints on DA's skills in that respect.

As much as I love Fish, I think at this time it would be good to move in a new direction.

If Anderson is healthy and can play defense at the 1, then his versatility might be very valuable.

I went with Anderson.

He's longer and on a team that's expected to play zone and traps, length is a key ingredient.

Yeah I say y not both. I was reading on another topic and a good idea was brought up.

Fisher wants to come back to La, he misses it so after he gets waived with the money he recives from golden state he would be willing to sign for the LLE. Then with the MLE we could get Anderson and if both parties would be willing maybe chroshere and him will be able to split it, they are still getting paid elsewhere but lets not get greedy.

From here we can trade either slava/cook for Lue. (slava makes more sense)

Finally trade George, Vlade, a pick and whoever is left between slava & cook for Lorenzen wright. Vlade is easy savings george is a good back to shane and the big is a big to help their semi depleted front line

I like Fish. He knows the triangle very well. He's also very articulate. He can help the young guards pick up the finer points.

Fish will be it for me. Knows tri, works well with Kobe, solid role player what triangle needs. And his defense cannot be worse than Chucky's or Sasha's, right?
DA has missed too many games last season because of variety of health reasons from migraine to back problems.

DA all the way, maybe Fish for vet min if he gets released. Fish is a BACKUP pg, PERIOD!

are you really trying to argue for DA because fisher is injury prone?think about that one for a second...
i would like both,they both would really help this team in different ways,and to maybe pickup lue who isnt a ''amazing'' defender like the original post said but can defend the quick gaurds

I chose DA over "Mr. 0.4 seconds". Sure Fish knows the tri, but he too is older, and besides flopping, DA is better defender. PJ likes tall guards. Teammed with Kobe, I could easily see him getting his arms in the passing lanes and disrupting offenses. (Not sure of his wingspan, but it gotta be longer than Fisher's). Also, LA will be younger at the PF position. This means that the PF could help Kobe/DA trap an Iverson or Parker and make him give up the ball. LA couldn't really trap with the 3-peat teams of AC Green, Grant, Horry and of course not with Malone b/c it would take away from their offense too. PJ did a lot of trapping with a young Grant/Stacey King/Simpkins. Lead to a lot of fast breaks too..

DA had some good games with Portland/SA/Clips vs Kobe. He left Clips for obvious reasons, left SA for more money, now he's leaving Portland. Yeah he was injury prone (so was G.Hill-like someone else said on another thread). He would definitely fit in the tri. I believe he is an upgrade over Chucky and GP the year before (although GP played the whole season. But his man won Finals MVP so forget him).

Bottom line, DA at 6'5" would be the shortest starter. Think about that. During Showtime (no I'm not comparing) their shortest player was 6'4". They rebound, and ran to 5 rings. Would have been at least 6 if not for Magic's hamstring. Not saying this squad could not do the same, but I like the possibilities presented by having a big lineup like that. There would be missmatches everywhere after double teams.

With all that being said DA should come back to LA....

I voted for Fish. More durable, can step in from Day 1 and run the offense, and has a sweet shot.

I dont know when DA became a good defender, I must have missed that one.

I gote to go with D Fish.. He can teach sasha how to play defense .. And there is no learning curve for the triangle...

LA could possibly get both, you know. Fish might very much want to come back to the Lakers, even for the vet min. if he gets waived, you never know.
