I was impressed with the defense of Dunston but I think he pulled his groin near the end of the game. James White is useless. Crawford can drive but wasn't special. Coby looked good. Mata was awful. |

Why is Mata on the Laker roster? just by looking at his face I had to turn off the game. |

The good news is Colby Karl is the best player on the team. I guess that is also the bad news. Worst game I have ever seen. Detroit didn't look so hot. I didn't even know who the Lakers coach was, not Rambo or Jimmy C, no one I had ever seen before. Tex was there. Mitch was there, no on booed this year. Mitch walked by after the game, I should have said "Pay Sasha". Lakers lost like 80 something 60 something. Crawford did not impress. Saw JC on memphis looked good as did Conley and of course no Gasol. _________________ LBJ and AD rule the league!

Well if we're looking for shooters we're not going to find them on that team. Couldn't even convert from the stripe. Karl looked okay but only because he knocked down a few from long distance. On the other hand, he got knocked down rather easily too _________________ Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst. |

Man I was more scared that since he got a SPL invite, he has slightly more chance than I do to make the team. Now that was scary. _________________ LBJ and AD rule the league! |

Seriously.. this might be the worst talent we have had in a summer-league game in our history.
Mitch should just cancel it. |

I watched a lot of it on the link, and Stuckey looked decent. I think Karl had the best game because he has been through the tri for a season already. Instead of thinking the game through, he has the ability to just go out there and play.
I didn't really see much special from any of the other players. Neither Crawford or Karl should blazing lateral quickness. Crawford can get inside, but looks like he could also pick up a lot of charges in the process.
I hope Mitch gives them equal chances and keeps in mind that Karl has been with LA for a year already. Hopefully the best player gets the last spot. Not sure that was the case last year. _________________ "It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up."-The Greatest |

Did nothing to impress. Was not notable. I saw JC last year and he looked hot. Frankly Crawford was not distingishable from the filler and folder on the Roster. He had trouble bringing the ball up and didn't really intiate the offense, and didn't really have any offense of his own. I think the Lakers keep Colby and Crawford goes somewhere else. _________________ LBJ and AD rule the league! |

Doesn't surprise me that they weren't as good. I expect that from a team that made it to the finals. |

When Mitch didn't return right away after the half break, I actually did think he called it a night, but he did show back up late. Well we all knew this wasn't a SPL team to put any hopes on, and boy I tell you it did not exceed expectations. Only reason I went is cause it is less than 2 miles from work. _________________ LBJ and AD rule the league! |

Hopefully they aren't looking for any more shooters. They should be looking to pick up an athlete who can put the ball on the floor. Karl has two options on defense: 1)foul 2)watch his man go by. _________________ "It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up."-The Greatest |

Yes nothing like the days when we all sat by our computers waiting anxiously for updates from Long Beach on how Bynum was doing. But I guess that is a good thing. _________________ LBJ and AD rule the league! |

What was the best moment in the SPL game? you should have had some conversations with Mitch. atleast that would have made it a good night for me. |

Quote: | MEMPHIS, July 3, 2008 — The Grizzlies announced that 2008 draft selections O.J. Mayo and Darrell Arthur will join Grizzlies veterans Mike Conley and Javaris Crittenton on team’s roster for the 2008 NBA Summer League presented by EA SPORTS in Las Vegas, Nevada from July 11-16. |
That's pretty much their starting lineup . |

I saw the game on nba tv and it was horrible. Crawford looked like every other wing guard we've played on summer league the last 4 years, von Wafer-ish, but not even that good. He penetrated lost the balla couple times handle and quicks looked suspect. Just a horrible level of play from both teams. |

The only thing that makes summer league games watchable is Dante and Galante and they only did the Orlando Summer League games. |

Disappointing performance from Taj Gray. Davon Jefferson is on the summer league team, and didn't play. |
