Oh man! Lakers are chasing McKie? What happen to the trades that supposedly would land us Curry and Rose? How about DA?
I know folks, the picture is getting clearer or blurrer or the same depending on how you view DA and McKie.

Since we have some more choices, let's see what you really think of the current "plot" of Mitch Kupchack.

I know guys that we have been waiting for so long to get a BREAKING NEWS on pg spot that I can understand why many would just want to get past this point of seemingly never ending dramatic waiting that will likely end up in disappointment.

At this point, I have to tell myself that Lakers cant get "worse" than McKie or DA at point guard position. Now, that's a relief!

Well, there is no way Watson would come for half an MLE for 2 years. I think you are being too optimistic on Watson if he is available. But curious though, how many teams are pursuing Watson now? It's kinda suspect that it's so quiet on Watson! Or maybe because we have been focusing on DA lately that Watson kinda go under our radar.

sig doesnt say 2 years. I dont think half of the MLE would have much impact on our 07 plans. Just let Sasha walk and trade our pick next year. There was an article the other day that said Watson was willing to take half of the MLE. If its true, I doubt he would refuse a 3-5 year deal..

By your sig, Watson will get $12.5 in five years.
By my take, Watson will get $10m in two years and team option in 3rd year.

If I were Watson, I'd take $10m in 2 years + 3rd year team option with LA because the probability of making even just an LLE ($1.67) for the 3rd, 4th and 5th years is pretty good if he is healthy. So, in essence, he'd make at least $15.1m in 5 years if he takes a 2 year contract with LA and 3 other years at an LLE with other team (assuming Lakers waive the option on the 3rd year of the contract). If Lakers opt to exercise the option, he'd bound to make $15m in 3 years as opposed to your $12.5m in 5 years.

I think the Hawks are after him but thats really all I'm hearing. I'm surprised he hasnt already been picked up. I thought he was the 2nd best PG in the market. He can be had for a good price as long as he gets a starting role. I dont see why teams arent after him. Maybe they dont think he can start every game and be effective. And with the Hawks getting ready to sign Lue it looks like they dont want him. I know Watson is not the typical PG for the triangle but he's probably the best we can do.
