The Cannon's have been saying this for a couple weeks now...I don't know though. Where did they get this information? Bynum's Agent?

[I actually don't know. I am not living in SoCal right now so I don't listen to 570. I just remember another thread a week ago saying this same thing]

He should be in Atlanta training, but he did have to get screened by our front office prior to heading to Atlanta. They could've weighted and measured his body fat. If that is accurate, that is promising, since he has not played basketball since Janurary and was able to keep his weight down. I remember Kwame looking noticably heavier, and that hurt his leaping (and finishing) ability. He should be adding more muscle and improving his second and third jump.

It should be accurate because I heard this from a Mitch Kupchack interview. He's the one that mentioned this. You should be more concerned about how explosive he will be, I don't expect him to be as explosive last season I expect him to be MORE explosive.

What's so surprising? That was his "figure" last year. I'm interested to see what it is this year. Supposed he came in at 6%, and grew ANOTHER inch, could we expect to see a jump EXACTLY like he did from last year to the year before? By all logic, we should. But that would be too mind-boggling to imagine.

That's about what I'd expect him to be. But you rarely will have any sense of the accuracy of NBA players reported weight or body size.

If true...

Are you sure though? Why would Mitch say this right now with Bynum's agent spouting off about how he wants the max?

290 sounds heavy for his age. He should be 265-275.

9% body fat and he needs to diet? Not real up on average BMI in the league, huh? 9% is very low.

I wonder what Bynum and his trainer do. What if you were to apply what they do to EVERYONE on the team. Wouldn't you, in theory, have an army of "superhumans?"

He was 285 last season and that was after a full summer of training.

That 280-285 was lean for him. It was easy to tell he needed to put on 10 lbs, especially in the upper body. You have to take into account the fact that Drew has an extremely large frame, his body is meant to carry a little more weight. At 265 Drew would be a stick. I believe he was 280 his rookie season when he looked thin.

Little worried about his knee and being able to stay in the line up when teams go small.

The concern about his knee is legit. But being afraid that he'd get outquick? Not a chance. Assuming that the increased weight is all muscles, it can never be bad.

Muscles = more explosiveness, more rebounds, more dunks, more stamina.

Hopefully those exercises they are doing this summer to specifically target those areas pay off. Although at 265 he may look like Mutumbo.

Afraid for when teams go small? You mean like how Golden State exploited his size?

Yes I'm being sarcastic.
