If he changes the spelling of his first name, do you think it will help him draw foul calls? _________________ Magic Johnson is the biggest reason I became a Laker fan, and Jerry Buss is the biggest reason I stayed. |

Nice. He's the one that stole the ball from OJ Mayo and threw down that thunderous dunk.
Does he have a shot at making the roster or is he just a camp fodder? As a 6'5" guard, he would be playing SG, where we have Kobe, Sasha, and even Coby Karl. |

Who? Mike Jones?
Seriously though, who is he? He was on our Summer League squad right?

| I'm guessing he will just round out the camp roster. Mitch will probably sign 4-5 more similar deals. |

Nice.
I liked Mitchell from what I saw at the SPL.
He's a tough, physical D-minded guard with a lot of athleticism.
IIRC, he was also the MVP of the D-league last year.
Anyone know if this is true or not?? _________________ From Bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty;

Yup, was easily the best guard defender on the team. Didn't seem to have much of a outside jumper but attacked the rim with force. |

| Awesome!! I was afraid Mitch would cave and sign Colby again. Dwayne is the one guy I actually thought could contribute out of all the SL guys. He's very D-Fish like with his aggressive D. He's going to get a lot of fouls, but guards are going to have to work to drive on him. Great move by Mitch! |

He is the one guy in the summer league for the Lakers that showed defensive potential. Strong, athletic, defends, goes to the rim, and can't hit a ft to save his life. _________________ "It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up."-The Greatest |

He pulled down almost 8 boards a game last year in the D-league. Pretty impressive for a guard. Also put up 16 pts 4 ast and 2 stl.
He kinda reminds me of Mo Evans lite. A good slasher, not a great shooter or ball handler for a guard, but well built and athletic.
Looks like the battle for that 5th guard spot is going to be a good one - Coby Karl v. Joe Crawford v. Dwayne Mitchell v. Sun Yue (maybe).
I think Mitch probably takes one of these guys and maybe an extra big man into the season. DJ Mbenga, Tractor Traylor, Taj Gray, etc. _________________ “This goes far beyond paychecks” |

Does that have anything to do with the fact that GMs sign a few guys for camp around this time every year? |

I never saw him play. But I found his profile <<<LINK
He's been shooting a good percentage. And I'm also guessing he's great at defense as well. Watch out Sasha! |
