The overrated movies thread inspired me on this one. You know the game. So here we go:

Nirvana
Billy Corgan
Led Zeppelin (love the band, but I think they are overrated)
Chuck Berry (not enough credit goes to Link Wray)
Metallica
Red Hot Chili Peppers (over friggin played)
50 Cent
Eminem

Ouch. Many great artists on this thread being called out...

I agree about Eminem and 50 Cent whole-heartedly.

Lil Wayne is mind-blowingly overrated (apparently if he says he's the greatest enough times everyone will believe him)

Maybe Reppin 818 was right - the entire rap genre is overrated

And because you call him the Greatest Hip Hop Producer of All Time is why he is overrated...

Primo & J Dilla > Dre

I'm not saying he is bad or sucks, in fact he is good... but he's not the GOAT of Hip Hop producers. As good as the Chronic was, the beats were basically an instrumental Parliament album

As for NWA, their beats were basic, and as for lyricist, besides Cube, they got nothing,... I mean how many times can you rhyme (bleep), ho, gun, shoot before it gets old....
