.... after watching him against the Lakers... errrr... US team, what is your impression?

Is he an NBA material?

Is he a defensive material?

If so, is Mitch genius or what to sign him prior to this game?

his game at best in my mind projects as a luke walton with slightly better D but worse offensively. I think he is a marketing gimic and a guy who frankly will not have a place within the triangle.

Love his defense. When he's set, he's not a bad catch+shoot player from the wings. I'd like to see him be more aggressive, but that could be more a fault of the system/coaching than his actual basketball mindset or approach. Definitely a point guard IMO, with the potential to be one of the better help players from that position. Handles and passing ability are for real, but again he didn't have enough opportunities to show them off. He's going to make the team though.

However, after putting the ball on the floor his shot takes a MAJOR tailspin, and he often doesn't penetrate as far as he can, settling for deference at a time when there's no need. That can be fixed/adapted to with experience and conditioning though, not to many worries there.

I like him. Moreso than Farmar. He gives effort on the defensive end, consistently. And with Fisher here, he'll have a great shooting lefty to help him with the mechanics of his stroke.

Dont forget though: he was playing against a team of de-facto all-stars. And against one of the best defenders on the team who will be his teammate if everything goes smoothly. For those who missed the game, dont forget the delayed broadcast later.

I still think he's a borderline nba prospect, but what I liked the most about him is his hustle. Throughout the whole game he was the only chinese player hustling on transition trying to stop the fast break points and he also showed a willingness to sacrifice his body for the team considering how only a few selective players are willing to contest shots from freight trains like Lebron, Kobe, and Bosh. Overall a solid pick for a second round pick.

He looked good, but I think he still needs to improve quite a bit.

We'll see how he progresses.

As of right now, I can say he's one of the best 3rd string PG's in the league.

He's 22 Years Old turning 23 in November.

He Bring some versatility because he can pretty puch play the 1, 2 or 3 position for us.

If you put AK47, Magic Johnson and a 6'9 bum in a tube and shook it up, you'd probably get Yue.

He has Magic's and AK47 heights. He handles the ball very well and tries to play good defense using his length. Only problem is he's not at the level their at, hence the poor mans combo version of the two.

Nice Yue Facts:
A Year Ago at Predraft Camp in Orlando, it showed Yue has
: 5.1% Body Fat
: 8'9 Standing Reach
:6'9 Wing Span
:a time of 10.68 seconds (ranking in the top 3 times at the camp) in lane agility
: 34" Vertical

That was a year ago, so hopefully they've improved.

Two Years Ago his Stats in the ABA looked like
13.5 PPG (46 FG%)
10.5 APG
6.0 RPG
2.0 BPG
1.9 SPG

If he has really been working on his game we got a good 11th Man.

He's a scrub, we need to save our third PG position for a Vet, like Tyrone Lue or someone like that. This guys just not really good at anything.

Well then I guess we need to save that position for another couple of years.

Well, I was like Whoa when he blocked D Howard's shot attempt. He definitely needs to work on his mid-range jumper. His 3 ball looked pretty good.

The good thing is the bum is in one sentence with AK47 and Magic Johnson.

So, the block on Howard really was not a coincidental one.

I voted that I wanted to see him play more (even when I've been seeing him play since the World Championships) meaning I think he needs to play some NBA competition as well in the D-League. I don't think playing in the ABA helped his game much.

Well if any of you guys want to see Sun Yue's block on D-Howard, here you go,

I think it's at 10:15 Pacific.

Well, I like his effort. That block on D12 was amazing. As far as guards are concerned, only Kobe or Sasha have the balls to even attempt to do the same thing. I hope he has a good work ethic to go with his skills. He has talent, but it is early and the jury is still out.

He definitely needs more experience and coaching, but his raw talent is there. Good dribbling, decent shot. His length allows him to be a good defender, but he plays for steals/blocks too much which leaves his man open. A year in the D league would be good for him.

Very Tayshaun Prince like... probably doesn't have the same scoring repetoire, but he has great handles and better court vision, so more of a PG. Although his jumper is probably less consistent as well, he looks to have better shooting mechanics than Prince and IMO could become a good 3pt shooter.

Defensively, given his athleticism and length, he could turn into a Prince-like defender if he has the determination and the hoop IQ (remains to be seen).

He definitely looks more comfortable and steady than he did this time last year. I think with better coaching, a good weight training program, and a defined role, he could really make something of himself. I see potential in the kid... I think he has a lot of upside that has yet to be tapped.

I like him. I liked what I saw of him in the summer league last year, and from what I saw today, it looks like he's improved his shot and his control since then. Considering where he was drafted, if he can play at all in the NBA, it was a decent pick.

Has enough tools to be a starter. Maybe borderline All-Star if he worked hard enough. He definitely does not need to spend time in the D-League. We've wasted his development enough. The more years you waste, the less his potential becomes, as every year that you get older, your skills/mental game have to reach a certain level to compensate.

At this point, it doesn't appear that his skills will develop in time for them to meet with his physical prime, which I believe is from 22-25. His mental game will improve by 28, but that is already slightly past his physical prime. So in the end, we will probably never see what his best truly is. If we do, it probably will be only for a year or two.

That is who he reminds me of but a shorter armed, less polished version.

He showed that he is at least a solid garbage-time NBA player. He has lots of potential, so he could get a lot better.

At the very least, he gets you more excited than Karl, Mitchell, or Crawford.

Was impressed with his game against the US out of all teams. It's good for him that's he leaving the ABA/CBA. His game will improve more with practicing with the Lakers.
