I understood what he meant by "Shootout." Back when the Lakers played at the Great Western Forum (Fabulous Forum for those old enough to remember), they had the "Great Western Shootout," which was an exhibition including 4 teams. Winners of 2 prelim games play each other. Losers of the prelim games play each other.
I have no clue what they call it nowadays, but I'm pretty sure they still have it.
