Personally I hope the knee really is fine. You never like to see promising players go down due to injury. I say this as it appears that Brady is done for the year (major blow to a lot of FF teams).

I hate Brady and the Patriots, as I see them as cheaters, so Ii don't mind seeing them taking some lumps and some actual loses for a change.

They are cheaters and it irked me to high heaven that they were then gifted with one of the easiest schedules for the season.

Still, you never want a player going down to injury. Those aren't the kind of lumps I'd wish on any team. Still, karma is a ...

I don't wish that kind of thing on any player, but I don't feel sorry for the Patriots.

Back on topic...
On Nov. 11, 2006 Bill Simmons wrote an article after the first week of the NBA season which included this.
Bill Simmons wrote:
4. Andrew Bynum: The Prince of Juvenation
My friend Matt "Money" Smith (a radio host for the Lakers) summed things up last week after I sent him the obligatory "thanks for warning me about Bynum" e-mail: "I watched him play every minute of every game last season and Summer League this year, so I can say with great certainty ... this came out of nowhere. NOBODY, I mean NOBODY thought he was capable of this. There's no reason to think it will fall off either. His moves are legit, and who's 7-1/290 to slow him down?"

That's the thing: Maybe he'll be up and down this season, but when he's up, is there another center in the league quite like him? He protects the rim, passes out of double teams, has great hands around the basket, up-fakes on his jump-hooks, rebounds in traffic, even has a motor that keeps going and going (unlike a stiff like Eddy Curry). I'm not sure what's missing here. This is stunning. This is startling. There's almost no precedent for it. Just what the Lakers needed: More obscenely good luck. Meanwhile, I have to watch Al Jefferson whip jump-hooks off the front of the rim for the third straight season. I will now pour scalding hot water down my pants.

This was published the day after Drew dropped 20/14 with 3 blocks on Minnesota 2 seasons ago. Feel free to use that next time someone talks about Andrew's 35-game career.

Is that PST?

Seriously, just finally getting to camp will do it for me as far as getting the first reports of how the players look... such as Bynum, Kobe, Mihm, Ariza and others each of whom we want to know their situation asap.

i stand corrected. my timing was based on a poster saying camp was the 29th.....or was it the 30th? anyhow, on my way to work wednesday morning, i heard kfwb sports announcer brett lewis say "17 more days" until camp. based on his calendar that makes it september 27 which is now 2 weeks & 2 days.

maybe i should just take a nap like rip van winkle and camp will be here? waiting for camp is like anxiously watching a clock. it almost feels like the clock goes backward sometimes.

interesting enough, i remember last summer a lot of posters were saying they werent looking forward to the season and found nothing to get excited about since mitch didnt make any moves. a lot of people didnt think the team could even win 50 games. i was excited then and i'm just as excited now.

lets do it!

^Yep... I echo your sentiments.... I was really excited last year and even more excited this year.... we were a handful who predicted 55+ wins last year.... this year it will be 10+ more wins than last (if healthy).
