I think Volkan has a chance... he's big...going to be hard to keep down. He might take Cormier out on the feet.. Cormier is great on the feet too, but Volkan is explosive and has odd power in his hands.

And the Predator is knocking Stipe out

Ngannou needs to take 6 mos off and get a basic ground game.

I’m amazed he avoided being finished!

I wanted both the foreigners to win I am disappointed hahah

Not surprised the more experienced fighters came out victorious

Stipe...HW Goat? Man...that man can't be denied.

And yo, DC came correct. There are levels to this MMA game. Volkan isn't even in the same start. Let's get Gus up in this joint.

Congrats to Stipe on winning one of the most disappointing main events in recent memory. Expected excitement, but instead got to see 5 rounds of Stipe basically hanging on Francis with no intention to finish him whatsoever, so boring.

I like Stipe, he is a hard working guy that deserves all that he attains.

On the other hand, not sure how many of you bought this fight, but the overall line-up looked pretty bad to me..

The bell rang and DC took Volkan to school. What a mismatch. Gus is up next I suppose but the division is pretty cleaned out with Polygraph Jones awaiting suspension length. The whole DC story is going to play out so odd because of all that. But he shows up, does his job and keeps beating everyone else they put in front of him.

Stipe did the smart thing. Stuck with the obvious game plan. But to do that, he had to weather the fiercest 2/3 of a first round he’s ever seen so I can’t be mad at him for just doing what he had to the rest of the fight. This bout took a lot out of both men. The predator needs a Plan B.

Of COURSE he has a basic ground game. If he had nothing, he would have easily been finished on the ground, no matter how big he is.

he needs one 1 step above whatever he has because he could not get himself out of any of the positions Stipe put him in

All the big fights this weekend confirmed experience/conditioning/skills beats youth/athleticism/strength 9/10 times

as much as i hated the lay on a win..

I could still see each man focused and doing what they thought was best

Stipe on any other opponent would have been hammerfisting and hitting him even more but I think was concerned about Francis snapping a fuse and figuring out how to knock him out

Nganno is an Athelete for sure.. He will come back from this ready..

completely agreed. A co-worker pointed this out to me yesterday as well. Going for the finish might have allowed Ngannou a moment to escape. If he comes back with more cardio and skill the division is his.

With only 5 years experience he's still a baby MMA wise

They way his body's built he's always going to have conditioning problems. Maybe if he takes off about 15 lbs we'll see how it goes but at 31 that was his shot at the title. The title used to change hands all the time but Stipe is making the rest of the division look bad.

The hw division needs new talent

I never heard of him until a few months ago here..

Just reading a little about him it is nice to see him get a chance and a big payday

Reebok is giving him $30,000 also

Guess he was homeless for awhile even

Yup! He's an MMA baby.

Rogan was saying today he heard from people that Ngannou had been refusing to train on the ground. Obviously that's gonna chance now haha
