Holy crap! Don't blink on AJ. He just smashed Nogueira. And damn, is it me or did Johnson get all extra swoll?!

He looked that big in his last fight too. 205 is the perfect weight for him. He keeps almost all his strength/stamina/speed.

I missed the Lawler/Brown fight. Looking at the stats, it was 89-87 in strikes and went to 5 rounds. Was it a good one? One sided?

Man, I watched the UFC fights, and then switched to boxing. Quite the difference...Besides maybe the Manny and Mayweather fights, boxing doesn't hold a candle to UFC/MMA. Everything is so much better - the format, the promos, the hype, etc.

http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Anderson-Silva-Returns-to-Meet-Nick-Diaz-in-Middleweight-Clash-at-UFC-183-71295

Looks like we're going to see Nick Diaz vs the Spider in January. Nick won't be intimidated, that's for sure. However, if Anderson is anywhere near his old self, I can't see him losing. Diaz likes to beat you down with volume. However, we all know that you can't stand with Anderson for long.

my biggest takeaway from the entire Lawler/Brown event had to be Rumble's performance and how most of the guys in his division can't be eager to fight that monster anytime soon

and I agree I don't see Diaz having a shot in hell against Silva if Silva's at least 80% of his old self

probably about the same shot Carano would have jumping into the ring with Rousey for her first UFC fight

Nick Diaz is past his best days and at his best, I think he gets worked and worked badly by Silva ... just a wide gape in skill between them.

That being said, it might be a closer fight than I'd normally expect if Silva's injury (a serious one) limits him and the time off from training, ring rust and age all work together to make him more hittable and less able to strike with the accuracy he normally does from unexpected distances with surprising speed.

Either way, I'm sure Nick will be in his usual making-friends mode leading up to and immediately following the fight.

You mean to hide an HGH jaw?

I personally think MMA fighters should be banned from having beards. Wouldn't a thick beard act as a sort of cushion for the chin?

People are saying that the Jones/DC brawl was a setup. Idk, it looked pretty legit to me.

could there be some hate? sure there can, but it was done to antagonize Jones get him off his game. Its all a huge strategy, so i guess you can say it was staged.

Legit in what way? That Jones threw a punch? Sure.

However, the both have been amicable to each other for the most part and there wasn't even a hint of animosity until now other than a silly verbal jab here and there. Contrived.

Honestly, I've almost never believed the pre-fight stare down/"brawls". Unless there was years of bad blood or the fighters in question had a history of rough housing (Nick Diaz), it's all a dog and pony show. Appears to be working though.

ITs called hyping the fight, happens alot. Nothing wrong with it. If you dont like all the prefight stuff dont watch it just wait for the actual fight. Its good to hype a fight. Im all for it.

Not sure about the hyping the fight thing... it was in a hotel lobby with a ton of people right next to em. Seems like some things could easily go bad.

If the whole thing was staged, then color me fooled. I don't doubt Cormier's contrived actions, but Jones's punch seemed to have some bad intentions behind it.

I guess we'll never know but imo, no way in hell Jones doesn't hit him flush for a KO if the other guy isn't set up to bob and weave or check the punch unless he meant to miss.

come on they go up and stare one another in the face no one said anything from any side, then DC proceeded to push Jones. There was NO reason for it right there. Hyping!

Haven't posted here in a while, but since it's been bumped - DC is a stud, but Jones will use his length to keep him away. Really wanted to see the Gustafsson re-match.

Excited about Silva/Nick Diaz - Two guys who don't play around. They just want to strike, and do nothing else.

I am surprised Silva is even going to fight again. Something perfect about the match of a very proud fighter vs no shame disrespectful jackass lol

Like this fight needs any more hyping.
