Should be the most exciting game of the season thus far.

Let's go baby! 5-0 tonight. YEAH!

I've been looking forward to this game, our season really begins now. The other 4 games still felt like the preseason. I got a feeling were going to lose this one but lets hope they win.

Honestly, if we play the way our team (the rockets) have been playing, and especially yao ming, we're going to get blown out. Our team still needs to gel, and we are missing Battier who is better than Artest at slowing Kobe. Now, once we gel, i feel we'll be a completely different team. Tonight, barring a complete collapse, i expect the Lakers to win, in a blowout..or a very close game.

u rockets fans are jokes and need to get over that. Shane Battier stops kobe 1 time and all of a sudden he can stop kobe....did u forget to remember the recent times he dropped 50 and 40 on u u guys. The reason kobe has struggled 1-2 times against rockets has nothing to do with battier but the fact kobe was just missing shots

Sunday game in L.A... you know what that means...

WHITE JERSEYS!!!

The whites are by far the best looking jerseys the Laker's wear, not to mention Kobe dropped 81 in the whites and the 2006 playoff game where Kobe hit two buzzer beaters was in whites.

Go Lakers!

Wow, that was uncalled for.
First off, i never said Shane Battier can stop Kobe. I said he can slow down Kobe better than Artest can.
Second of all, Kobe scored 30 and 45, not 40 and 50. And when he scored 45, he only shot 13/32, but had 27 Free throws. The time Kobe shot 30 and 11/23, Battier only played 22 minutes.
Please, spare me the homerism, and learn the facts. Thanks.

I'm nervous about this game. I think we're going to lose. They have a way of beating us in regular season, but I'm 100% we beat them in a playoff series. They seem to get up for one game, but they're not durable in a series.

im pretty nervous as well..

the rockets have all the talent and tools necessary to stop the lakers. they play good team defense and with yao, artest, mcgrady, they have talent offensively.

but man, its gonna be a good game. i can't wait to see how the lakers handle a potentially championship calibur team

It felt like the damn off season leading up to this game. Finally it's here!

Let's hope for a good one. Keep the defense up, and let's find our offense this game.

Leave the poor rocket fan alone... he made valid points and knows what he's talking about..

Fish and Farmar combine to score 30 tonight.

PostPosted: Sun Nov 09, 2008 3:26 pm    Post subject: Guarding Artest

It seems to me that the position the Lakers will have the most trouble defending (besides point gaurds who own fish) is at the 3. Radman should do ok guarding Artest unless he repeatedly posts him up. But who do the Lakers have to gaurd the stronger small forwards in the league like Pierce, Artest, Josh Smith? My guess would be if Radman is getting burned Phil would put Odom in. Looks like Odom might have to keep trying to work his way into that 3 spot after all...

I would be ecstatic if the offense went through Ron tonight.

So I'm not to worried about it.

I'm more concerned about Alston.

With the way we have been trapping I expect it to bother Yao by forcing him to make quick decisions.

Artest is shooting horribly to start the season. Let's hope he doesn't wake up against us.
