I am calling my shot now on 12/12 with the Lakers not playing well presently.

I like the Lakers to win on Christmas Day and win with surprising ease.

Let's say Lakers 105, Boston 92

Call your shot before the game or no bragging/whining rights after.

I appreciate confidence, and do expect to beat the Celtics, because I expect to beat everyone, but to predict that we beat them with ease doesn't seem grounded in reality, just a crap shoot, because it's not like we're playing great basketball right now.

I am not worried about 6 scrub teams, I want some Boston scalps for Christmas.

We're fans. We don't have to plan for games or play in any games, so we can look ahead to whatever the (bleep) game we want.

I don't see us improving by leaps and bounds in 12 days and our defense in the first two weeks of the season still isn't good enough to compete with the Celtics.

Celtics 111

Lakers win. I think we're really going to bring it on Christmas. I'm not predicting a good defensive showing. I just think we're going to see the Laker offensive juggernaut firing on all cylinders. That was good enough to win a couple of games in June and it will be good enough on Christmas.

This game is huge and if the Lakers don't win I am going to drink excessively and horrify my family at Christmas.

I don't see Kobe allowing a loss in that one, the Lakers will be primed and ready to win that game at home.

All I want for Christmas is to see that punk Celtic team put in their place.

I have been a (pretty) good boy this year Santa.

That's a tough call, Lanny.

I hope you are right. I can see this game two ways.

#1 Lakers come out with their best effort of the season, just blow right past Boston, beat them convincingly.

#2 Lakers come out and crash right away, and they fold quickly. A similar game to Detroit loss, where it just got ugly

Don't envision a close, nail biter game. Dunno why.

You took my prediction.

Yup Lakers win with ease and Kobe/Bynum/Pau laughing it up on the bench late in the 4th quarter.

i can almost predict how the game will go down...

the lakers will come out guns blazing, shoot like 65% in the 1st quarter and boston will struggle, but the score will be somewhat close cuz of sloppy turnovers. 32-25 at the end of one.

boston will really clamp down and start fouling every play but get called 1/5 times. the 2nd unit will chuck up shots and the lakers will shoot 29% during the quarter, luckily boston misses open shots. at the end of the half it will be 49-43.

LG will be fairly happy.

3rd quarter, the lakers come out blazing again but their defense starts to really fail them, at the end of 3 they should be 20 but are up only 5. 75-70.

4th quarter, another epic meltdown, kobe goes 2-11 during this quarter with 4 turnovers (2 errant impossible congested passes to bynum, 2 strips while he's driving in with kobe swinging his arms and getting T'd up for one of them). boston goes on a run. end of game boston wins 99-86. a pathetic 11 point quarter.

vlad rad gets 0 minutes.
luke shoots 1-8, 0-5 on 3 pointers.
bynum gets 8 points, 8 rebounds in 22 minutes and 5 fouls, gets punked again from perkins.
pau goes 8 for 12, scores 19 and 9 rebounds.
kobe goes 7-22, scores 19 points with 6 turnovers.
fisher goes 2 for 8 and farmar goes 1 for 7.
lo gets 5 points, 4 boards, 2 assists, 3 offensive fouls.

LG explodes.

Lakers and Christmas games don't mix to well. Until last year, they had lost 6 in a row I believe.

I'm with Lanny... the Lakers will show up and destroy Boston by double digits. It's the time of team they have.

Posey was a serious factor in every game we played against Boston, seems like we were neck in neck with Boston until Posey came in. He'd Hit a big three, get a key steal/Rebound, offensive fouls on Lamar and etc, he was just a pain in thee ass against us. We beat Boston in the finals if they didn't have Posey in my opinion. Thank Goodness he's no longer there to torch us.

The Lakers just have to play with intensity the whole 48 minutes, execute on offense ( see the first halves of games 4-5), Kobe needs to dominate Ray Allen Offensively like game 3. Our Bigs( Bynum, Gasol and Lamar)
cannot not play soft.

Everything near the rim needs to be a Dunk, (bleep) the layups, cause when it hits the glass, KG will swat that (bleep) and the refs will not call goal tending, this (bleep) happened constantly in the finals. So dont expect the refs to bail you out, if it's near the rim,DUNK THE BALL.

Bynum needs to anchor the hell out of that paint and keep Perkins big ass off the boards, (pau needs to box out KG, hell everybody on the floor needs to box out), can't let them get second chance points, make it 1 and done. If we do these things, we should be able to beat Boston.

But it will be very tough, I just have a feeling that Ray and Paul are gonna light us up from the perimeter and Bynum will get in Bogus foul trouble early. I'll say 104-98 Lakers, but it could be 110-97 Boston, if we keep playing like we are today, not matching the other teams intensity.

Oh he'll be there to torch us when we face New Orleans.
