Well, if he decides to change it, he should change it into an original number like 42.

^^ That was Big Game James Worthy's #. He should stay #8, cause he's infinitely better than the rest! ^^

Ya, I know that Worthy's number but apperantly, Kobe likes that number too.

I mean, I want him to stay #8 but 42 wouldn't be so bad..

See the poll I set when we first learn about the rumor a day or two ago.
Many won't be happy with the change.

he should not change and definitley not to 23..he would get killed for that one

as for the reasons why..i find it very hard to believe nike would be for this???? why would they want increase reebok sales..they make jerseys for all teams not nike!!!! if nike wants to increase kob sales for jerseys just release this lowerr merion jersey in three colors...white, maroon, and alt black like mj, bron, and melo have in stores....no problem..he should keep 8 though!!!!

That Lakers will not unretire Worthy so that Kobe can wear 42.

He's not changing his number. He's built a legacy with #8 that he will continue to build on.

Anything in double digits 1-10 But 8 is a very special number because it is symmetrical and has a legacy behind it.

There's a little problem... number is retired. Cannot believe you would actually want to diss worthy.

i was thinking the same thing. unless kobe gets traded elsewhere, he aint taking 42.

btw, the most ridiculous thing i ever heard of was the miami heat retiring michael jordan's jersey. wtf was that about?

He should definitely keep #8 and cement his legacy. His number has history already.
