I think theis game comes down entirely to 3 point shooting, and the lewis/gasol match-up.

while lewis can't guard gasol on the block, i don't think pau can really guard lewis.

this is the disadvantage of such a large team, that while we have an offensive benefit, our bigs struggle with quick bigs or shooting bigs.

if we can get lewis is quick foul trouble, it forces the magic to use a non-shooting PF, which works into major advantage.

if reshard stays in the game, he will likely kill us.

I feel that that match-up will determine the outcome.

This is going to be a tough game for us. Lakers plays loose perimeter defense and we have no one who can body up DH.

pleeease please please stay home on the 3 point shooters. let dwight go 1v1 with bynum and gasol. lakers need to be smart when doubling and not gamble too much on defense!

need to attack the paint and get dwight in foul trouble

This could get ugly if the Magic are hitting their shots. The Lakers have problem defending the 3 all year, they sag off the perimeter, too many doubling, gamble too much, run at their man at full speed and when their man just dribble away, then the whole defense is in scramble mode, their whole defensive philosophy against the 3 seems to be eventually their opponent will start missing.

The Lakers philosophy is to manage their weaknesses and prioritize what areas of Defense to give the most attention to. Last year we got killed in Transition D and gave up more layups. So this Defense is designed to take those things away first, but the draw back is it does cause mismatches, it's complicated for the team to make correct rotations, requiring a lot of mental focus and communication, which when not done properly lead to breakdowns on the perimeter.

Too many times I see Kobe on one side of the paint and LO/Rad on the other, leaving legit 3 pt. shooters alone in the corners or somewhere along the arc. There supposed to be there to lend help to the middle, but I think they often get too far away from the guys they're guarding when there's no need to do that.

Here's to hoping our bigs contain Dwight.

And here's to hoping their shooters are cold as ice. fingers crossed.

Hornets just can't lose and get off the air. It's over, let the clock run out.

Drew to Kobe for the dunk. Nice way to start. Kobe is going to go right at Lee.
