For those that wanted Kobe to sit this one out...

"EL SEGUNDO - Kobe Bryant plans to play tonight against the Clippers.

His dislocated right ring finger is no longer dislocated, but it still pains him greatly.

He plans to tape the injured digit when he goes through the shootaround this morning. Then, and only then, will he determine how best to play it against the Clippers.

"I'll probably have to test it out and see how it goes and see how it loosens up and see how my hand responds to it and just kind of feel my way through things," Bryant said after sitting out of Tuesday's practice.

"I'll know a lot more after the shootaround. I'll get here early and get my shots up and handle the ball and see what I can do and what I can't do, and go from there."

I'd rather he sit it out.

We SHOULD be able to win without him.

It's the Clippers, we can beat them without him, Kobe should give the finger as must rest as possible. LeBron sat out 5-6 games with a sprain, this is a dislocation!! If the Lakers get a substantial lead I hope Phil sits him. We don't need him in this game we need him in the finals. He shouldn't chance being hurt in a game we can win without him.

KB24 shows again no matter what he respects ALL opponents and will lace it up even against the Clips. Im assuming he is in the "it cant get any worse" category like his pinkie, so he will go with it.

I would prefer he rest, but he is not like most people. I think he would pull a Ronnie Lott and cut the finger off if he needed to!

Camby, Kaman and Davis areout, right? I love the man's spirit and will to compete, but sometimes it's better to sit and be safe rather than sorry...

Hope it gets better soon.

KOBE WILL ALWAYS be fine. Is it really surprising that he would play? He always plays through injuries if he can, except in the all star game.

admit it, the clippers should forfeit this game.

it wouldn't be much worse than losing by 30 on their home floor, which is exactly what is going to happen tonight!!!!

if anything he could sit out whenever he feels uncomfortable, it's not like he's facing the celtics or anything where he needs to be on court.

Just a leader being a leader.

Go Kobe!

I'm not sure why anyone would expect anything else from him.

If it makes anyone feel better, the Clips are as banged up as you can get - no Baron, no Camby, no Randolph, no Kaman - so in theory he should play pretty short minutes.

If Kobe can play, he will play. The competitor in him can't sit out.

I'm glad he's dressing. Weird things happen sometimes, and the Lakers play inexplicably bad against really bad teams. Having Kobe on the bench will make everyone more comfortable, even if he's not called on to play big minutes.

He should sit it out, we can beat the Clippers without him so it's a good chance for him to rest it.
