We have played them 8 times since they came into the league. Our record is 4-4 in those 8 games and 1-4 in the last five including two straight loses in Staples.
Hopefully we catch them this time.

My predictions:
117-94 for the Lakers. Alot of garbage time. Drew with the 4th straight double-double.

Lakers ALWAYS have a problem playing the Bobcats....now that Carrol is gone..hopefully I won't see anymore and 1 threepointers..but with the arrival of Diaw and Bell....this game can get ugly..if the Lakers do not show up tonight.

Charlotte and Atlanta - two wrong-way franchises that have proven very very tough for us to beat, especially on their home court, no matter what the talent disparity. History seems to repeat itself quite a bit. I hope that we can beat them tonight, because I don't want to see this train derail. I like to see the momentum, because we need to keep up with Boston, Orlando and Cleveland in pursuit of home court advantage.

I just hope there aren't any of those famous "letdowns" on this trip.

I think it'll be a good one. Diaw & Bell plus the Lakers' propensity to underachieve with sub 500 teams will make it so.

If we go to him, Mountain Drew should have BIG game. They just don't have the size to contend with him.

We won't get 117 points against the 4th best points-allowed team in the league. I'll be happy with a 98 - 91 win.

Go Lakers!

They actually have solid defense (7th in the league), but play at a snail's pace and are horrendous offensively. With no Matt Caroll and Jason Richardson I really hope we'll be able to finally put a beating on them.

Blah, we'll take care of these clowns tonight with ease. The only reason we struggled against them was because of our lack of an inside presence ( Kwame? Mihm? please), with Emeka dominating our front line like he was a prime Hakeem. Bynum and Gasol will destroy these guys up front tonight. (Seriously, Diaw Guarding Pau? ) Bynum can neutralize/outplay Okafor, he's much bigger than he is.

Plus we don't have to worry about Matt "Larry Bird" Carroll destroying us from the perimeter this time around. If we don't let Bell go off from downtown we should win this one with ease.

we'll build a nice 20 point lead only to blow it and have a 7 point lead w/ about 3 minutes left.

I can hear Joel saying "ANOTHER lakers turnover. And just like that the lead is down to 7. Gotta get some stops"

Bynum normally has good games against Emeka.

I'm curious who guards Gasol. Diaw sure shouldn't be able to.

Don't let the Bobcats record lull y'all into thinking this is going to be easy. The Lakers always play down to their competition. I would think going out with a win at home before a long road trip would be enough to motivate the Lakers enough.

this team needs motivation against bad teams. i hope phil just points out that we're 1-4 against them in our last 5 games, and that will be enough motivation

If someone is going to have a good night against us please don't let it be Raja Bell.
