5:30 PM KCAL9

Finally I made the game thread.

I'm not superstitious or something but most of the time I make the thread Lakers win.

51-13

The Rockets have been playing very well as of late. Trading Rafer for Lowry has so far been an upgrade at the point. I expect a good game tonight. Would be nice if it were a blowout for the Rockets but I don't see that happening.

Teams playing without a key player generally step up and more than make up for it. Trust me, as a Rockets fan, it's been a frustrating season, but much more enjoyable lately now that the team has had continuity in their lineup.

Kobe is the best player in the league and it will be up to Artest and Shane to try to get Kobe out of his comfort zone tonight.

We tend to play well after a shameful loss. I´m confident. Rockets 98 - Lakers 107.

Relax guys I think the Lakers pull this off because the Mamba is tired of hearing that Battier and Ron Ron can guard him.

I think my team can get a win since we are at home and y'all are without Odom. Again, I think we can get a win, but I wouldn't be surprised to see us lose. Y'all have the best team in the West for a reason and if y'all are just making shots it's not really much we can do about it. We are a much better team at home but we often have long scoring droughts, and that doesn't bode well against a team like LA that still puts plenty of points on the board on a bad night.

I will be paying extra attention to these things tonight:

A) Your interior defense, and whether or not Phil decides to double Yao. He plays him straight up more than most coaches.

B) How our young PG's fare against Fisher. Fisher is allowed to apply playoff type defensive pressure all year long, so I want to see how they respond to it. Brooks failed in this regard in Utah, but Lowry didn't. Also, if Brooks can keep knocking shots down it will bring a different dynamic that out matchups usually don't show....us having a PG that can actually make open shots.

C) How Kobe does against the Battier/Artest combo. Our defense has really improved since T-Mac (avg defender) sat. These two dudes switch on the perimeter a lot now and take turns checking stud wings....which conserves energy for both of them.

D) What version of Kobe will show up...i.e. will he still work the ball around to everyone or will he try to put up 50 and win the game. Kobe has put up 50 to beat us before, so this is possible.

E) Will Yao actually get any calls against your backup, BACKUP bigs (i.e. Mbega or however ya spell his name and Powell). If he can't get calls against these dudes in his own building....well hell, he never will then....

phil usually plays yao straight up, then doubles late which seems to frustrate yao. he seems to be a poor passer out of the post when crowded. i say we double early since we give up wide open 3s anyways
