I helped set this up with my boss Terry (I'm Aaron, toward the bottom half). We got 4 semis going down to Gulport, Mississippi with donations. They should get there tomorrow morning.
Besides the program, me and my girlfriend scrounged up 3 bags of clothes and food. Felt good to give.

Nope. I was going to give 5 bucks the other day, but the people collecting money left before I got out of the restaurant. |

Scratch that.
I paid taxes. Where do you think that $2,000 for each family is coming from.
So yes, I have donated. |

Ouch.
I have arranged for many thousands in corporate donations, and donated in the four figures myself.
I personally don't think tax dollars alone cut it, when the government has been so feeble and ineffective in it's response. We can't sit around and wait for our tax dollars to work. |

I don't plan on it........as inept and corrupt our government is......non-profit organizations are even worse.
If I could directly donate assistance to an individual then I would definitely consider it......but when I don't know exactly where my money is going, I'm just gonna stay away. |

$50 to the Red Cross through iTunes. It's the easiest and safest way if you already have an account open. |

Too many scammers taking advantage of Katrina causes. I won't give money to red cross either because of all the money that "dissapeared" in 9/11. Giving blood is more important IMO than donating money, there's probably going to be a lot of people in need of transfusions. |

I don't believe in government charity, so yes, I plan on donating. The way I see it, $100 donated serves 2 purposes. First, it helps relieve suffering to those who directly benefit, and second, it's $100 less that must be stolen from taxpayers. At least that's how I see it on an optimistic day. When I'm feeling pessimistic, I think that taxes will remain unimpacted and my $100 goes toward allowing the govt to redirect $100 to a new program, that will now need continued funding through future taxes. Ah well.
At any rate, I can't be libertarian and not give whatever I can afford to give to private charities. But I prefer to wait until the main thrust of the news coverage, telethons, and benefits has run its course. That's usually when people still need help, but no one's paying attention anymore. That's when my money goes farther. |

I haven't donated anything, and don't plan on it. I'm the skeptical kind, and don't like the idea of not knowing where the money is going. It could be in some rich bastards pocket right now for all we know. |

Yes I did.
I think this is the first time I really go out of my way to donate money for a natural disaster. I usually refrain from donating money for things outside of the US. Africa and some of the east asian countries are so corrupt that most of the money will be squandered. _________________ Ringo "You retired too?"
