Yeah, it was a pretty good road trip. But pretty good absolutely will not cut it in the postseason. The Lakers better have another gear to go to come playoffs, otherwise they are beyond screwed!

5-2 is a successful road trip.

If the Lakers go 5-2 on the road in the playoffs, they'll be just fine

Phil Jackson Post-game Interview:

-(Q: What adjustments did you make at halftime?) A: A problem we've had on this road trip is allowing other teams shoot well and get a lot of layups which are high percentage shots. We tried to stop that but I still wasn't happy with it. They missed shots, but we were able to shut down Villanueva in the 2nd half. That was a big part of the game for us. But really, we talked about execution. Our turnovers, 10 in the 1st half, double in the 2nd half but we did execute better and we understood what we had to do to execute in the offense.

-(Q: Tonight the offense was back up over your average. What did you do better offensively?) A: Well, we did everything relatively well, I didn't like the 3rd quarter because we didn't get any traction because we missed free throws. But in the 4th quarter we started understanding Pau was really the target guy to go to and that things will happen good behind that. Kobe had a great 1st half, he was 7 for 7 but was 3 for 10 or whatever in the 2nd half. He wasn't getting calls and was frustrated. We just really had to emphasize the fact that you have to get the ball inside to Pau because other things will happen around that and it did.

-(Q: Is 5-2 a successful road trip in your mind?) A: Well, I think anybody would be happy with it, obviously when you start out with 4 wins to begin a road trip you're not so pleased that you didn't do a little bit better but we're happy to go home with this.

-(Q: How do you feel about dialing your minutes back now? Orlando lost tonight and Boston won ... what's your feeling in general about these last 6-7 games?) A: Good question. I don't know. I really haven't decided yet about that. I think I've said for the last 2 weeks that we'll probably push on to 60 wins and then we probably will.

The whole Bucs team looks like scrubs. It is embarassing only winning by 4. At least the Lakers got some calls on the road tonight.

Welcome home, Lakers!!! 5-2 is a success. Now 5 of the last 7 games will be at Staples. Get rested and get Bynum back in the lineup. Give Laker Nation a preview of what is to come in the playoffs. The Machine got his groove back and Farmar play well. Give it to the Rockets!!!

Coming home after a long road trip at 5-2 could be a lot worse. San Antonio, Utah and Dallas are all 5-5 in their last 10 games. And Denver is the second seed in the West. More here: http://steveodesignedge.wordpress.com/
