The frustrating part of rooting for this team is NO LEAD IS SAFE no matter how big. The Lakers will find a way to piss it away. Teams know that now and therefore will not be intimidated or disheartened during the game.

The Lakers are like Wolverine with the adamantium claws but no healing factor :

Not exclusively a Pierce anymore - Rondo has a new stylish version.

Seriously i was watching the Mcnugget game the other day. They were up by a land slide and still playing hard defense. Difference is they get there hands up and disrupt things. The Lakers dont seem to do that. I hate watching them not extending leads. Its like you know its coming yet the lead slowly melts.

LO had a decent game. He was right there to bail out some of the missed shots

Bring it. This team is contending for a championship. Absolutely no reason they should start getting afraid of Okur.

Boy, this freaking team really learned nothing of their experience in last years Finals. They say they're on a mission to win a championship yet they still lack the focus, the unwavering defensive intensity that's needed to win a championship. How the freak do you blow another big lead? Three games in a row? It wasn't a 20 pt. lead but 13 pts should've turned to 20 and held to finish off the Jazz.

If you stayed on to watch Inside the NBA, Barkley hit the nail on the head. For whatever reason, this team just doesn't know how to keep their foot on the gas. They don't know how to finish teams off. Their intensity level goes up and down, up and down. When are they going to learn? When they get sent home packing once again empty handed? We'll see how they respond in game 4.

I'm not really sure why people are so scared if Okur comes back. Okay, he spreads the defense and forces Pau or Bynum to come out. Good for him. The Lakers just need to take care of business on Saturday.

Exactly. Okur doesn't decide who does or doesn't win the series.

PostPosted: Fri Apr 24, 2009 8:51 am    Post subject: I have a problem the last 2 plays of the game

With 12 seconds to go, everyone knew that Daron would have the ball and would likely shoot the ball himself. Why not have Ariza or even Kobe on him, as Derek was just not capable of defending Daron? Even though he didn't have a good night shooting, it was not like Daron was defended well by Derek most of the game.

I know people say on the road you don't want to go into overtime if you don't have to. You have to shoot the ball quick, but a long three pointer with 2 seconds left to go was such a low percentage shot. I thought the play was poorly designed for Kobe, who by the way has one of his worst games ever in the playoffs. We needed a better shot selection in that situation. I also thought that Derek and even Odom might have been better suited to take last shot because Kobe was just off.

Of course hindsight is 20/20.

I agree with your second point. The first one, I agree to some extent, although I have to give credit to D Will who really did make a nice shot.

Williams was allowed to take an uncontested 8 footer with Fisher in front of him. I said it at the time, why in the hell wasn't Kobe on Williams? Let one of the other guys beat you, but not Williams.

2nd point, not much you can do with 2 seconds on the clock. Kobe takes and makes those shots, didn't drop last night.

On your second point, I don't think it was a badly designed play. It worked out that Kobe recieved the ball way too far from the basket, but I don't think it was meant to be caught that far away.

I agree, it was a poor screen and the inbound pass was to Kobe's left. He had little time to move back towards the basket and get a clean look. That shot doesn't bother me a bit, but the Williams give me 8 footer is the one I can't fathom.

When in doubt against the Lakers,

Run elementary PnR basketball that 10 yr olds could execute and you get a clean look everytime.

it was fishes fault for letting d will even get that shot off. Honestly fishes defense is poor. how can you play d when your on the side of them? seriously watch fish play d and hes always on the side of the person hes never in front of them. hes seriously just saying "blow right pass me"

Fisher must rely on help because of his athletic limitations. In that scenario, I either put Ariza, Kobe or Brown on Williams and let someone else beat you. A wide open 8 footer at the buzzer is just criminal.

Your not supposed to rely on help when your straight away at the top of the key. You force him to a side, into the help. Fisher lets him run STRAIGHT to the basket.
