He already thinks Kobe is the best. I think Odom will be one of the best SF's in the game. And we may already have two of the best big men in the game in Kwame/Bynum. _________________ Vote Andre 'the Giant' W for Prez |

Odom=Kobe=Kwame-Amare-Bynum
We need a superathletic Point Guard now, have you noticed the athletic build of this team we got now, it's going to be tough for the 'old guard' to keep up _________________ Vote Andre 'the Giant' W for Prez |

Can you imagine how hard it'll be to stop us if we have Kobe, Odom, Amare, and Bynum all on the court at once? It'd be Showtime once again |

Boogieman2k5, needing a point guard is an understatement. SHOWTIME requires a MAGIC JOHNSON! |

So this is a vote on who can hack into Amare's mind and read his thoughts? I'm in! Amare obviously thinks highly of himself, considering he "already knows what teams are going to say" (offer him the max) when he becomes a FA. And we already know he thinks of Kobe as the best player in the NBA. Add 2 and 2, obviously he KNOWS he could dominate the league playing alongside Kobe aka "Best Player in the League".
1. Kobe is a proven champion, Nash is not.
2. The Lakers are a proven dynastic franchise, Phoenix is not.
3. Phil Jackson has pretty much owned the last decade, D'Antoni is ringless.
4. The driving force behind the Suns is getting older, whereas the core of the Lakers will all be in their 20's (can dominate the league for years).
5. He'll be closer to his favorite vacation spot (Malibu Beach), rather than in the scorching desert sun.
If championships is what Amare wants, L.A. is the best place for him. If money is all he wants, Phoenix is the place for him. If I were him, the dropoff in salary would be worth it, considering he'd be able to make up for it through endorsements and other business ventures that come as a byproduct of living in the 2nd largest city in the nation, and entertainment capital of the world. |

The Lakers are just not allowed to offer him as big of a contract as PHO can. Nobody can, But...his contract will still go up to the MAX/MAX right because of extensions etc. As far as money goes, winning Championships in LA has got to be the mother load. How much more money does Majic make than Bird or Thomas. Amare could be set for life just from the endorsement money from being a Laker Legend! _________________ Vote Andre 'the Giant' W for Prez |

This might be old news, but I found the following on HoopsHype.com today:
"However, it might be the chilling effect of some comments that Amare Stoudemire makde to a reporter from SI.com that found its way to The Heat Index Operations Center. The story is all about Stoudemire going to the West Coast to work with some video game programmers, but goes into some detail about Stoudemire's affection for Los Angeles and implies that the Lakers might want to make a run at him. 'I'm a businessman,' Stoudemire told SI.com. 'I'm going to listen, but I already know what they got to say, "Amare, we want to give you the max."'"
Here's a link to the full article:

or if that doesn't work, there a link from HoopsHype.com's Rumors page. |
