This is seems like a really close one in the polls and when actually breaking down the upside and downside of each player.
I will say this. Noone is really wrong in this one. Not the Curry-Pro or Mihm-Pro guys. It's really hard to make a decision when you have the following situation
- 1 player has far more impact and upside but at the same time just as much risk and downside.
^
Whenever that happens it's excessively hard to make a decision. If we were already a playoff team that showed good cohesiveness from last season, i probably don't make the swap. But considering the Lakers can only go up from last season and really there's little on the line in regards to longterm losses - i do the deal.
Curry has a chance of being paid by 08 and staying with the team if he shows health. I don't see how Mihm gets a new contract in 2007, unless he really steps up his play to an All-Star calibar. |

Mihm can get Curry numbers in Chicago cause they have no stars.
Mihm with the little opportunities he gets, though he fouls too much, has good blocking ability, good mobility and often finishes with hard dunks.
Curry has health and work ethic issues. _________________ Lakers 28 NBA Finals appearances.....

I can not really see the upside for Curry when there are so many down sides. Two very glaring ones are his heart condition and work ethics. Atleast Chris is healthy and seems to enjoy being a Laker.
In terms of talent there are ups and downs to both.
But I will take Mihm over Curry. |

Since I'm a guy who values rebounding and shotblocking more than points from the center position, I prefer Mihm. Curry is all about himself and doesn't give a damn about the "team". |

Curry >> Mihm. With that said, we need both on the team next year since we'll still be short one C/PF if we trade Mihm. If possible, it would be great to have Curry as the starter and Mihm as the b/u. Hey Paxson...need a wingman? Devean George anyone? |

we need a big who can catch the ball when kobe feeds them down low. Mihm and from what I hear Kwame both have brick hands. |

Mihm for this season, no doubt. With Curry there are too many question marks on air now, including his contract situation. He's RFA and Chicago is probably keeping him for this season trying to convince - if he stays alive- to stay with them after he becomes UFA next year. _________________ I want to say something about Dwayne Wade, but I fear I may get called for a foul.

I marginally prefer Curry to Mihm since Curry seems to have the athletism and ability to be a big impact player and I would take a risk on him. With that being said, I think Mihm is likely to be much more effective this year. I think he is a player with quality character that works hard and plays for the team. I am not sure that any of that can be said for Curry. With another year, I expect Mihm to be more consistent and to play smarter. |

Curry Update
Quote: | Eddy Curry's agent said Saturday he has found a team that is a willing buyer in a sign-and-trade for the Bulls' center. The agent, Leon Rose, declined to name the team, but sources familiar with the negotiations said it was the Knicks. |
Quote: | Worse for Curry, a three-year offer from the Bulls appears to be off the table, leaving him with only the one-year qualifying offer of $5.14 million.
"They've already rejected it," Paxson said of the short-term contract offer.
At this point, any other contract offer is "not going to happen," Paxson said. "There are too many questions." |
Quote: | Rose said two more respected cardiologists have cleared Curry to play in the last few weeks and their reports have been provided to the Bulls.
But Paxson isn't impressed. He stands by a leading heart specialist who declined to give Curry clearance months ago and instead asked Curry to undergo DNA testing to determine if he is predisposed to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which can be fatal. Curry declined to take the test but sought the opinion of another respected specialist, Dr. David Cannom, in Los Angeles.
Paxson said one supporting opinion that Rose offered came from a doctor based in the same medical group as Cannom. He said an opinion from another doctor suggested Curry undergo genetic testing.
"This is what we've been saying all along," Paxson said. |
