Hello fellow LGers.

I'll be going to the Lakers-Suns game on Thurs. I was wondering if you guys could give some advice:

1) Best place to park
2) Best exit strategy so I don't get stuck in traffic for 3 hours after the game
3) Am I allowed to bring a digital camera to take some pics?

Thanks guys. Go Lakers!

If you're coming from the 110N, exit 9th street.

It'll look like this if you arrive downtown when the sun is still up.

Park there for $7. Staples is a 3 block walk up from there. You won't get stuck in traffic after the game. The most traffic you'll hit is maybe 3 minutes of traffic until you get back onto a freeway.

Adress of the parking lot for internet directions is:

856 W 9th St
Los Angeles, CA 90017

CMB hooked it up, but I was going to say anywhere 3ish blocks east of STAPLES has great 7ish dollar parking. You'll be able to leave and not get stuck in too much traffic.

For cameras, a point and shoot is allowed. You CAN being an SLR but they have rules on how big the lens can be that I do not know off the top of my head. But a standard point and shoot digital camera is fine.

1) Depends on how far you're willing to walk and how much you're willing to pay. There's plenty of parking around Staples. If you're worried about getting stuck after the game, I wouldn't the lot inside the buildings on Figueroa. They often double-park and block you in.

2) There is some traffic, but if flows pretty well because there's so many ways to exit. I take the 10 Fwy home after the games and I don't recommend taking Grand Ave as that's where most of the traffic heading towards the 10 backs up.

3) Yes

As far as parking is concerned, if you see a guy at 12th and Figueroa holding a hand written sign that says 'Valet Parking $5', don't use it.

Sure, the price can't be beat, but they don't seem to be very organized. I used them at a game last year and I still haven't gotten it back. I'm giving them one more week before I take action.

take the metro link to the game, its 5 bucks round trip save you gas and money and the hassle of parking, the link stops right infront of staples center

All I know is get the Nachos!! I always get a hotdog and nachos with a large coke as a pre-game meal. They have the outside lobby area open before the game and let people in with 30 minutes to go or so.

Then nachos+candy for gametime. I don't really pig out that much but if it's a Laker game and Laker tickets are expensive, must go all out!

But if you live more than 20 miles from downtown I hope you love 2 hour train rides. (one way)

Yep, that's the lot I like to use. You exit out the back side of that lot (the North side), hang a left, and the 110 entrance is right there.

i've managed to get (as in sneak down...stand in the gate area) to the lower lever seats, watch the end of the game, get to the parking lot across from staples (the parking lots for $30 btw so there's a price to pay) and make it out w/o too much problem. head west on 8th? until you can get to the 110...

don't go to a laker's game just to leave early...stay for the whole thing.

it's not like you're dealing w/dodger stadium traffic; that crap's a joke!
