7-3 is a bit disappointing for this team. But is it bad? Not at all. ESPECIALLY considering Pau Gasol hasn't played one second yet. He's a huge part of the Lakers and it's unreasonable to expect them to be as good as they were without him. The Cavs, Nuggets, and Celtics all have 3 losses and they are at full strength. Having no Pau is like the Cavs having no Mo Williams, the Nuggets having no Chauncey Billups, or the Celtics having no Kevin Garnett.

Yes, the last two games were due to poor effort and the 60-32 rebound differential against Houston was downright unacceptable but I know these guys will bounce back. There are a lot of veterans on the team and Kobe is as fierce of a competitor as they come. I'm pretty sure he's more disgusted with the last two games than we the fans are and I'm pretty sure he is chewing the rest of the team out pretty good.

This team will start rolling again when Pau gets back and when Artest gets more comfortable (he showed signs of that tonight).

So enough with these pathetic "this team is too soft" or "this team is not deep enough" threads. It's old and annoying. I am sick of these fairweather fans. All the same (bleep) was being said last year and how did that end? In a championship, that's how.

first!

whether Pau is going to be back soon or not, he's not the excuse we need for losing or not being who the team is supposed to be.

If they couldn't get up for and play well in half of the games in the second freaking round of the playoffs, how do you expect the Lakers to maintain focus and play with intensity in early November? Color me not worried, this team will start peaking and dominate in April.

The worst team in the league without their "2" best players just beat the Rockets and doubled their rebounding total.

The sad part is poor Ron will get all the abuse. And he signed for cheap because the Lakers really wanted him. He gave up millions to play for the Lakers and no one will appreciate that in a few months.

7-3, without Pau, in the middle of November. Anyone who's panicking should just quit now. It'll be good for your health!

Don't the Lakers play a home-heavy schedule through December?

I know some of you are in fantasy leagues. It is a crazy right now with all the injuries around the league. We're definitely not immune. The injury bug is league wide. I've never seen it this bad this early.

So if we can just survive, we'll be okay.

Lakers are battling injuries. Team chemistry is not good right now. They need to get healthy and get some quaility practice time in. No need to panic.

No panic here! It's only 10 games in. Can we play better? Yes! However, we need all of our horse together for a least 20 games in order to really evaluate this team. And to think the best record in the league is only 8-2. That's only one game out! Wake me in February!

I suggest an official 'panic' thread to clear up the lounge a bit more. Oh, an official 'kobe bashing' thread, stickied, is also a good idea.

Maybe someone should start a "we need _______" catch-all thread for every loss.

It's November, Lakers do not throw the switch until at least Feburary or March.

In my opinion, I just don't see anything unusual with early season losses. The lakers have always been this way.

On the contrary, it's a great time to panic.

Kobe's not worried
Kevin Ding has some good points. Good read.
Jeff Miller
Jeff's taking it lightly. No need to panic, it's November.

I'm not worried. Doesn't look like we'll break 72 but what da hay!! It's all about the Larry O'Brien. We still have the team that won it all last year and IMO will do it again. It's natural to fret because we're not getting the run we expected. I'm going to release expectations and go with what is. Time to relax.

Is this sarcasm? Are you pulling my chain?

Haha, yeah, my sense of humor is broken after a bad day. Sorry, dude, I agree with you all the way.

Last year ... no major injuries expect for Kobe slamming into Bynum's knee. We've been a healthy squad for the most part.

Just gotta fight the storm, get everyone healthy and go from there.

Like Phil says "Gotta play at least 20-25 games to really see where the team is."
