Check out this video of Kobe Paras. He's an incoming freshman at UCLA. Scroll to that reverse jam in traffic towards the end. Curious to find out where he's at on some scout's radar.

I remember someone once mentioning that we about to be deluged (over the next 5-10 years) with tons of kids named Kobe and Shaq. |

Cool that he is actually going to play for UCLA.
I wonder if anyone (especially a program as good as UCLA) would have given him a chance if Linsanity never happened. |

No stars. He's an unknown that the Bruins are rolling the dice on. |

I believe his dad is considered by many to be the best Filipino basketball player ever. |

I recalled I read something about Paras.
ESPN Insider has a short sentence on him:
Quote: | Paras is an athletic wing-type who plays with great energy. He is a terror in the open court where he attacks the rim with a vengeance. He can slash his way exhibiting excellent body control or power his way through contact. His 1st step is quite potent when attacking |

I actually coached a kid named Kobe. He's already a freshman in college. |

Linsanity was a fad. Look at him with the Lakers now. All his flaws are getting exposed. This kid looks legit at 6'6" with some elite athleticism. _________________ The road back to the top... |

Fellow editor and I wrote about him last year.
Waiting for him to develop. Deliberately keeping things quiet. _________________ Resident Car Nut.
