what if Kobe wears #8 in the first half and then switches back to #24 in the second half? now THAT would be amazing. wonder if the NBA would allow that..

Man, you might regret that someday.

Farewell, Kobe.

All these years of screaming with joy. All these years of jumping around in amazement. All these years of eyes wide open looking at the person next to me and yelling "DID YOU SEE THAT?!"

All of that for 20 years. And now I'm left being speechless and quiet.

You know what we tanked enough let's win this one for Kobe and besides Utah will be eliminated as soon as Houston beats the Cousins/Rondo/Collision less Kings.

Not sure if I'm the only one who looks at it this way, but the experience of playing in a game like this could do wonders for the young core and their development. We don't know how long it'll take for the Lakers to climb back into playoff contention, so the benefit of a game like this is that it gives the young core a taste of what a playoff (or Finals) atmosphere is like. This is the closest they can get to that kind of environment for the time being, so hopefully it'll serve as extra motivation for them.

Can't think of a better person to start the thread for the final game of an NBA and Laker legend career than our own T&R Legend - DancingBarry!

Here's hoping for a win tonight, regardless of what happens it's good to see Kobe active for his final NBA game.

Haha I never thought of Kobe while listening to the end. Nice.

I bought my tickets in September in the lower bowl for cost, I knew this was gonna be it, I wouldn't sell them for any price. I can make more money that is never a problem, but this memory will be priceless tonight

Is there a way to watch this game online? I checked NBA league pass for a single-game purchase and it looks like it is blacked out. Any ideas? I really don't want to miss it. I also don't want to go to a bar because this will be too solemn of a moment for me and if I can't watch with other Laker fans (I'm not in LA), I prefer to watch it alone.

I'll check but I think you have to have a cable tv subscription to watch espn2 online.

For those of you going to the game, how early are you going to get there? I heard there's some special event going on around 4pm at LA Live. Traffic is gonna be crazy!

Read through this whole thread and The End is still playing. Hoping for a Lakers win and 40 points for Kobe.

You could try something like First Row Sports (firstrowge.eu) but I would definitely recommend installing the Adblock Plus extension first. You can google the recommended settings to minimize the pop ups. The quality is not good to begin with and with tonight's heavy streaming it might not be a good experience.

I'm gonna cry so much... Watching with my GF who isn't a basketball fan and my roommate who's a Clippers fan. They're gonna make fun of me for ages after this (they still make fun of me for crying after the achilles), but no (bleep) given.
