I know that Johnny Cash cover of Hurt is a big one, but there is another version that is even more haunting.

And what's the current NSFW? Nsfq?

It's only a 30 second tease but this is some serious rock.

Beck and Depp do Lennon

Yeah, I've listed a lot of Beck lately, but then, he's pretty good.

You could probably have a thread consisting of covers of this Keith Whitley song but Luke Combs is the real deal.

Not exactly a cover, but close enough:

Curt and Diva Smith

I like this for so many reasons.

Enough of this teasing . . . how about 5.14 worth of Johnny and Jeff doing John.

Post Malone did an entire concert of Nirvana songs and it was (bleep) awesome.

Pancho and Lefty by Townes Van Zandts good friend Steve Earle. He does it with such respect.

I've been lax in my contributions lately (not to say that's a bad thing ), so I figured this was a good way to re-enter the discussion. I went back and forth as to where to post this because while it is a cover, is also indeed a jam.

So, since it is a jam by a "supergroup", The Dirty Mac (Eric Clapton (lead guitar), Keith Richards (bass), Mitch Mitchell (drums) and John Lennon on guitar and vocals - I mean come on!), from before that was really a thing, I'm posting it in both places.

So here ya go:

The Dirty Mac - "Yer Blues"

Youtube guitarist does a 7 string classical guitar arrangement of Metallica's To Live is to Die

I don't know what metallica was smoking in the 80s and 90s but it sent them back in time

Pantera covers Metallica's Seek & Destroy...Dimebag Darrell on lead AND vocals

I saw that. Some songs are just not meant to be covered.

Ribbit: George Jones did not really like this song at first. Silly George.

So, the Byrds covered Mr. Tambourine Man (Dylan), Going Back (Goffin/King), See the Sky About to Rain (Young) and more.

Speaking of the Byrds, David Crosby was a member. Speaking of David Crosby . . .

Melissa Etheridge Says 21-Year-Old Son Beckett Died From Opioid Addiction

For those of you trying to make the connection, Crosby was the sperm donor.

So the argument of nurture vs nature continues.

Another Dylan cover? Can there be too many? This done by the delightfully distinctive voice of Chrissie Hynde, a song I was not familiar with, but one I'm going to pay attention to, as well as the later Dylan album, from which this came, Time Out of Mind. I must admit I have a bit of trouble with Dylan's singing on his later albums, but his writing is still up there.

Speaking of Chrissie Hynde, how about her contribution to a cover of a most iconic song, along with the great Ali Campbell of UB40.

I Got You Babe.

Chrissie oozes cool.

One of the better covers of this great tune that I've come across.
