That's Kip Lennon from Venice on lead vocals, and the other three guys from Venice on backing vocals. Venice is an outstanding band in their own right.

Yep. Saw them do a benefit for Canyon Elementary School in Santa Monica Canyon with David Crosby several years ago. Really solid.

Mike Patton can sing literally anything, what a talent.

And there's this:

Faith No More - Easy

And this.

Always dug that one too.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present for your listening pleasure Joey Heatherton!

The incomparable Joey lip-synchs a campy song and dance number with her trademark melodramatic phrasing and wild gesticulations. And with that vintage 1960’s faux hippy studio set, what’s there not to love?

She’s actually a bit tragic in real-life, and became an emotional wreck due to her drug problems, a failed, scandalous marriage to “No Pants” Lance Rentzel, and a promising career that stalled out due to some bad timing. Like many traditional performers in her generation, Joey is someone who was caught between two eras: Rock was on the rise, while some crewcuts still toe-tapped to Eydie Gormé and the other fading relics of the pre-Beatles era. Catherine O’Hara captured her self-obsession and neurosis perfectly as Lola Heatherton on SCTV.

I love this one, and of course the video is as awesome as you'd think it would be if you know The D:

There's no better way to bump this thread than with this awesome piece.

This is beyond just a cover. This is a kickass mashup of Led Zeppelin and Johnny Cash.

Whole Lotta Folsom

Not so much a cover as much as it is an amazing full arrangement of Chicago's 25 or 6 to 4 played solo on an acoustic guitar:

25 or 6 to 4 - Chicago - Solo Acoustic Guitar(Arranged by Kent Nishimura)

The Messiah Will Come Again by Gary Moore

Unreal performance. The original was done by Roy Buchanan if I'm not mistaken.

I've been playing this one a lot lately. Truly one of those bad ass covers that takes on its own identity . . . and those vocals!
