I always liked his game - but he seemed a bit lackluster to me last season. If he can be motivated - watch out.... |

Would love to have Marc for vet minimum. Different kind of player than Dwight completely but just as good. I expect a nice revival if he comes aboard. |

I’m hoping he wants to go here. Him and his family would be able to spend more time with Pau. _________________ Formerly OC Lakerfan |

What about a sign and trade with Javale and 1 or 2 second round picks to the Raptors or the Cavaliers? |

Ideal size vs elite centers and would help with outside shooting and passing. That could be big depending on how the guard situation plays out. |

I like the idea of Tristan Thompson. If not him, then Gasol works for me. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Gasol will be a decent pickup for our playoff run. Certain matchup like the Nugget and Portland, we can utilized him. He can also run and initiate offense along ability to space the floor . Get it done. |

Trading McGee just makes the problem worse. Despite all the chatter criticizing him, he is arguably the best center of all those being discussed.
Lakers need to add to the center position, not go backwards with TT or Gasol in leading C roles. Center by committee worked, now they need to form another committee. |

Marc Gasol would be a great pickup. When comparing him and Dwight. Obviously Dwight is a better shot blocker and a better nuisance at the rim. but Gasol also is a former defensive player of the year, has the size that matches Jokic and Embiid.
He also can shoot the three and is a great playmaker which we’ll need since Rondo left. |

Quote: | Clippers have joined the race for free-agent big men Serge Ibaka and Marc Gasol, league sources say
Gasol is considered the more realistic target given the fierce competition for Ibaka headed by Toronto and Brooklyn
The Lakers also seek one more big man, league sources say, but they face much tougher financial constraints in the chase for Gasol after signing Montrezl Harrell away from the Clippers and re-signing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

I get why the Clips would be interested in Ibaka, to replace Harrell. But with Zu on the team and their need for a point I can’t imagine how spending resources on Marc would be a fit.
The Lakers on the other hand are where he was drafted, where his brother won a ring, who are a title favorite, and who have a starting gig to offer, are a way better fit. Money is obviously at issue, but when we hire Pau to a lucrative big man coach deal, all should be good . |

The Clippers are interested because the Lakers are interested. That’s what they do! And now that the Lakers stole Trez, Rondo spurned them, they are gonna want to save face by getting someone that the Lakers are interested in.
Ballmer and that entire organization are super petty and that’s why the basketball Gods never shine on them. |

Gasol is a worse Zubac for the Clippers, he won't move the needle like Ibaka would. Gasol moves the needle for us more just because of his post scoring and passing. We don't have that element at the C spot yet. DeMarcus would add the same element _________________ Previously LBJ23 |

Sign Marc if u can get him, I rather have smart players any day. He might not be athletic, but he has bulk, tough, range, passing skill plus we only need him a few minutes a game. |

Same was being said about Dwight. Marc still have some gas left specially if the Lakers don’t plan on giving him too much playing time 10-15 min |

I could see the Lakers signing both Marc and Pau to convince him to come. Would be awesome having that defensive low post presence from Marc, the farewell season and veteran Leadership from Pau and have everything come together here.

it is worth the risk. McGee is worthless. I see Marc being useful for 10 to 15 min per game or for matchups |
