Vogel is the perfect coach for this team while Bron is with us. I think most of us would feel confident with a LeBron-led offense + a Vogel-led defense

The problem is once LeBron retires, and we don't necessarily have a go-to offense. But that's a later problem

His blue print is getting the team to the playoffs and getting the team to come together, interesting that the Lakers are already planning to talk extension with Vogel, He’s a good coach but he’s gonna step it up right now as there is only a handful of games left and that includes the coaching staff as well.

This starting lineup is shyt. A pg who you can go under every screen against combined with Drummond…that just puts way too much pressure on KCP as the only spacer next to bron/ad

Gasol needs to start with that group

Yup, imagine having bron/ad and knowing what works next to them but choosing to do the opposite.

I don’t see why Vogel is to be blamed with all the lineup changes and instability this year.

He’s had maybe the most injuries and lineup adjustments of any team. And there has been few practice sessions.

The Lakers are just trying to get to the playoffs in one piece.

About Drummond we knew the strengths (at least some of us did) and weaknesses. There is reason we wanted a stretch big like Gasol.

Let’s just get to the playoffs in one piece. Let’s get Bron and AD healthy. AD is about at 80 percent. Lebron 70. Frank knows this.

It's not just the lineup changes. It's the fact that Vogel saw what worked in the 2nd quarter and how well the team ran with Gasol at the backup 5 and still decided to not give Gasol any minutes in the 2nd half which is when the Kings really came back on us.

He is giving Kief constant chances despite Kief being off for the last 5 games or so. If Gasol had a stretch like that now he'd get his minutes cut. But the fact is Gasol has played well and the team plays better with him at backup center.

And Harrell at the backup 4 and Gasol at the backup 5 just makes the most sense. More than Kief/Harrell at the backup 4 and 5.

If Vogel's idea is "well Kief stretches the floor though.." well so does Gasol, and Gasol also brings passing and defense, two things Kief does not. So if the choice is between Gasol and Kief then Gasol is the clear choice.

Vogel SEES IT.. but then refuses to go back to it, in the same game it was working. That's the problem. He even plays Harrell at the 4 with AD at the 5, but for some reason won't play Gasol at the 5 with Harrell at the 4 despite saying A MONTH AGO that it was exactly what he was going to do.

https://twitter.com/LA_HighLights24/status/1388332113758277632

Vogel literally saw this and decided "Yeah let's not do this in 2nd half.".

And he has no intention of changing it seems.

@LakersNation 2h
Frank Vogel is expecting a 'bumpy' finish to the regular season as he continues to experiment with rotations.

Is AD done experimenting with whether or not he's an all star?

AD's coming off injury and a lot of time away.

Vogel's been here all year.

In tonight‘s post game he literally said - because someone asked him that - and he said they are not experimenting in any way right now.

That makes it worse, Frank. Especially when you said this 48 hours ago

ADx2 starting lineup is like 5 times worse than Ad/Marc combo when it comes to offense, but that’s not a fair comparison due to how badly AD is playing now. I just feel the spacing is very poor.

Kuz called out Frank and his boneheaded experimentations leaving out Gasol.

Kuzma: "I wish we could get a little bit more time out there with Marc (Gasol). That'd be something that would be pretty good for us, for sure."

What should the playoff rotation be? If it's a 9 man:

1. Lebron
2. AD1
3. Schroeder
4. KCP
5. AD2
6. Kuz
7. Trez
8. THT
9. McLemore

Or does it depend on the opponent?

You left out AC. We have too many players... I’d think Vogel will play AC and Kieff in the playoffs before THT and Bmac(not that I agree)

Yeah, I realize I left AC out. Can't play everyone though. Gotta make a call. DS & LBJ can run point. No need for AC.

Morris, THT, Drummond, and Harrell play depending on match up.

Vogel is going to have to make a decision on that backup 5. He can not keep letting Trez be the backup 5, when AD is available. AD is the best 5 in basketball. We need to play him there. Just because we signed Trez, who has far from being a strong asset for this team, does not mean we have to play him.

For the RS, its ok. We are still getting AD back in game shape. But in a play in, or playoff game, we need to run AD at the 5 a lot more.

Frank did this last playoffs. I think he knows this. He showed me last year, he is a little like Phil in that he does not reveal his playoff strategy until playoffs. Completely shifted his game plans each time.

Thing is, time is running out on us. Maybe Frank is not afraid of challenging these guys to a play in. Regardless, I respect the dudes that brought LA a title last year. You can not win it every year or have luck every year. We have been really unfortunate this year with the injuries and short turnaround.

Sorry, but I would not let Wes see the floor as a Laker ever again. Also, I can see THT not being in the rotation, but you know Harrell is in and we didn't sign Drummond not to play him.
