QUESTION “AD who is the funniest teammate you’ve played with?
ANTHONY DAVIS “It has to be Jared Dudley. He is out of his mind. That’s my guy. He’s the funniest teammate I’ve played with for sure.”
QUESTION “Who is the toughest player for you to guard?”
ANTHONY DAVIS “KD. 6’11, can do it all from anywhere on the floor. I’ve won some battles, he’s won some battles, but having to guard him is just tough.”
QUESTION “What’s your strongest memory from last year’s playoff run?”
ANTHONY DAVIS “Winning it all with family there, and me just sitting back and reflecting on everything that happened that season, everything in my career, in like 15 seconds. That’s the picture that floats around a lot with me sitting by the bench, just crying with all the emotion coming out.”
QUESTION “Do you prefer getting a clutch block or a clutch shot?”
ANTHONY DAVIS “It depends.”
“If we’re down, I prefer a clutch shot. If we’re up, I prefer a block. But if I had to choose, I think I’ll choose a clutch block - I’m a defense guy.”
QUESTION “Do any of your tattoos have special meanings?”
ANTHONY DAVIS “All my tattoos have special meanings. I have friends and family members I’ve lost. I have my daughter on me. My entire back is a portrait of me growing up in Chicago and my journey in basketball. Everything I have is special to me, and that’s how I want to keep it.”
QUESTION “AD what’s your go-to pregame song? Where is your favorite place to play in the league?”
ANTHONY DAVIS “It depends how I feel.”
“If I need a pick-me-up song, I’ll go with something from Lil Boosie, DMX, Tee Grizzley, Future. If I’m too hyped and need to mellow out - I’ll go with Drake, J. Cole, Rick Ross. Guys who are still rapping, but not yelling. It’s more like they’re talking to you.”
QUESTION “Now that you’ve won a title, how do you find the motivation and desire to continue to improve individually as a player and also how do you find the motivation to win again as a team?”
ANTHONY DAVIS “As a player - every season, you want to come in and be better than you were before, and to put yourself and your team in a position to compete for a championship.”
“As a team - you remember that feeling of winning and hoisting that Larry O’Brien trophy, and you want that feeling again.”
QUESTION “What do you consider the hardest shot you ever made in your career?”
ANTHONY DAVIS “Does it have to count? Because last year in Brooklyn, I got the ball on the opposite end, was dribbling to halfcourt, and they took a foul...I just spun around and threw in the air and it went in.”
QUESTION “How highly do you rank your buzzer beating 3 in the WCF against the nuggets as a career play?”
ANTHONY DAVIS “Number 1. That’s my best career play thus far. I’ve hit big shots, hit buzzer beaters before, but to do it in that setting in the Western Conference Finals, that’s number 1.”
