1) To avoid the Clippers in the first round so we have a series to ramp up and gain some semblance of chemistry with everyone on the floor.
2) Or to just play hard and try to get to the 6th spot and bet that we can handle the Clips in round 1. Not intimidated by the Clippers, but would prefer to face them in a later round given the amount of time off Bron/AD have had.
None of this matters if we're not healthy. |
That's it in a nutshell. I'd prefer rest of injuries and at least a 1st rd takedown of the Suns or whoever shows up then the Clips in 2nd ir 3rd. But I also get the bring them on attitude.
Hard to not beat the Rox. Leaves the Buzzards and Pacers. Could lose esp. if guys resting. |

Minority opinion here but bring on the Clipps. Can't play to win when your afraid to loose.
The entire world thinks the Clipps have some sort of matchup advantage over us. Be nice to put that 'hot take' to bed once and for all. |

Still a outside shot at Nuggs at 3. They hold the tiebreaker. |

I think the Jazz or Suns will rest players and gift a game to the blazers. I don't think any of this seeding matters as everyone will stay where they are. |

Both those teams just lost to the Warriors and went down the wire. Not sure they want to go in the playoffs in a losing streak. |

The rockets game is basically a freebie at this point, the only two games of consequence remaining are @indiana and @pelicans.
If one of Lebron or AD plays in either game, they are easy wins. The only scenario that the team could lose is if both lebron and AD rested @indiana. Considering Indiana is playing to make the playoffs they have something to play for. If the blazers lose the next two games, the lakers will know by Saturday morning. If the blazers lose the next two, and we win the game vs the Rockets, it is more than likely that both lebron and AD both rest in the pacers game and play in the pelicans game with the reason they can give is "rest" before the b2b at @pelicans. |

Nothing to see here...just your daily flip flop |
Exactly why I never watch those shows. They get ratings by creating conflict where none exists. I don’t believe any of those pundits ever thought the Clippers or Nets or whoever else had any chance against this team unless they were assuming LeBron's ankle injury was going to dramatically impact him or keep him out altogether.
I’ve watched all but one or two games this season and I haven’t seen a single game where I saw an opponent and thought they were the better team. I’ve watched maybe 2-3 games where the opponent just got hot and would have beat anyone. But most of the losses were the Lakers just being hurt, disinterested, or having a horrible game. In a must win game, I don’t see any of those being factors. |

It's becoming more apparent to me that the Lakers prefer to be 7th seed. Either that, or they believe the rest is more valuable than team reps. _________________ “You can't be held captive by the fear of failure or the fear of what people may say.” - Kobe Bryant |

Hopefully they can tank this game tonight, since they won last night.
Just need one loss and one win by PDX to lock up the 7 seed. |

Rockets going super tank. They have a bunch of dudes out including AB and Wall.
Wood is questionable. |

Not sure why Houston will tank today. They've already "clinched" the worst record in the league. The most wins they can get is 19 and the current second worst team already has 20. |

Lakers need to sit everyone tonight who has even the slightest ache or pain.
Give Kostas, Cacock, Mckinnie, etc monster minutes. |

Our starting lineup isn't that bad vs. Houston...
THT, KCP, WES, KUZ, AD2
Bench: BMac, Keiff, Trezz, Marc
Isn't there a PG they can call up from our G League team? |

Definitely doesn't feel like our year. Maybe everyone will be miraculously healthy by the play-in games, but injuries keep popping up or being reaggravated. Our luck is not going to necessarily just change because the play-in/playoffs started. |

What am I not understanding?

Why have GS and Memphis clinched playin births, but Portland and the Lakers haven't clinched anything? Mathematically, if the Lakers lose the rest. Their record would still be better than the current 10th place Spurs. So isn't a playin birth already clinched by the Lakers? |

Answering my own question... it's because they can still get a top 6 seed. I think that's it. |

Don't worry, we're in full tank-mode right now. |

Looks like its almost official assuming no meltdown by either team, Lakers will be 7th..Portland and Mavs won tonight. |

It’s weird but maybe it is because they haven’t been mathematically eliminated from the top 6 yet. |

We're the same as Portland. They can be playin or playoff |
