Portland up 20 points and Lilard only has 5 points, what is Denver even doing?

Besides the obvious tank, Denver might also be reserving their strategies for the playoffs, since they likely meet Portland in the first round

Denver doesn't care about their game today. They're trying to lose to avoid being in the Lakers half

I guess I’m more worried about the warriors than the general public.

Nah, I'm right there with you. Seems like 98% on this board feel it's a no-brainer. Some are even predicting a blowout.

I'm worried about them too. Especially in a 1 game playoff.

If they play defense like they have been, your concern is valid.

We will find out Wednesday if that suffocating defense is back.

Wow... Dallas will lose, which means Portland will jump to 5. So who do the Clippers want? They win, they go to 3 and get Dallas at 6. They lose, they get Portland at 5 and avoid Lakers till WCF.

Whoa... it is settled. Clippers vs Portland at the 4 and 5. Denver vs Dallas at the 3 and 6.

The Lakers are fortunate that the play-in is not a single-elimination event. Nobody wants to deal with the Warriors anymore than they want to deal with LAL.

Just beat them right away to be safe, but Memphis/SAS are much preferable opponents if it comes to that.

4) LAC

[*Mavs have 3-way tiebreaker over POR/LAL as the Division winner]
6) POR
7) LAL
8) GSW

- Lakers host Warriors for 7/8 play-in
- Grizzlies host Spurs for 9/10

Yeah worse case scenario we get another shot at it.

Ooh, I didn't know that. I thought it was strictly head to head. That's a bogus tie breaker. They got a bunch of play-ins and non-playoff teams in their division.

It's better to stay in the current bracket and beat the Warriors. You lose to them, you now have to face Utah and winner of Clippers/Portland.

Yeah worse case scenario we get another shot at it.

So if the Lakers lose to the Warriors they face the 9 v. 10 winner for the 8th seed...? Even though the Lakers finished 7th in the regular season. ?

Yup. Better win against Steph, if not we meet the Jazz instead of the Suns

In a 1 game playoff, the Warriors was not the team I wanted to face.

Denver clearly tanked that game vs Portland.
