Yep. We've all gone through a lot of life together. World kind of changed a bit 4 days after my join date.

I also had a baby boy who is now turning 20 this year and my daughter is learning to drive now.

Jason--->DB----->DB Jr?

Don’t forget our dearly missed friend Phil.

Many PM convos with Phil .. He is a man I really wish I could have met personally. Gentle Kind Unselfish Honest.. Someone worth celebrating

Proud to be part of this for so long. I remember first time I wanted to write here I was afraid of my English and how it would sound for English speakers. Many things changed since than. Only the affection for the Lakers didn't and never will.
Lets go Lakers

I have been here since the beginning. Don't remember if this sight came over from Rivals? i remember Club Lakers too.

I remember I used to be on AOL back in the days. Many great posters back then!

Me and CabinCreek go back to the AOL days and a few others. We used to have a blast. Times have changed and so have the posters but I am still around..

FatSam99
Butch
CTF
Phil
Some derp named Trey lol
Greg
Clone Wars
More... many
Murdock
JD was in an van down by the river
Where is Ventura.. he has been here forever

There used to be some dude that would converse back and forth with his clones in threads.. it was nuts.. lol

Oh PnP was from there too. He had some really insightful basketball posts. Other stuff was a bit wild but he's still a character. Man I miss that period.

I splurged for the 3 MB broadband special from Charter in 2001. I also splurged on a PC with 10 GB of hard drive space. I believe the PC was called Tiny, and I got it from QVC or something. LOL!

I've lurked on I think clublakers and lakerstalk, and both sites seemed kinda immature. Thanks to the mods here for keeping things civil.

I also love how we can talk about other things like politics and current events and many others and find people with common ground, or have civil debates while learning new things.

20 years, damn!
The search for Doberman guards, MP3, shaqsshoes defending LO and Fish in every argument, VLF defending Shaq ...
But nothing beats the stakeout of that restaurant where Kawhi was supposed to meet LeBron

5 presidential elections

5 Lakers championships

Horry's shot

Kobe 81

9/11

2 wars

Columbia disaster; space shuttle program ends

Kobe arrested, tried, exonerated

The Kobe/Shaq wars

We got Malone and Payton!

KG will he/won't he

Marcus Banks

smartphones and social networks

The great recession

Chris Paul basketball reasons

the "obese laker girls please!" guy

Toys R Us died

Fry's electronics died

Sears died

Phil died

LM died

David Stern died

Chick died

Dr. Buss died

KCAL Lakers broadcasts died for Time Warner

Kobe had 4 kids, 1 just got into college, 1 died

Kobe died

COVID

The Wire, Breaking Bad, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Game of Thrones all premiered, had multi-year runs/sequels, and then ended

we killed Bin Laden, 12 states legalized weed, the country legalized gay marriage

I lost my dog, my grandpa, and my dad, I graduated college, friendships and romantic partners came and went, I got married, purchased property, my interest in the Lakers/NBA gradually went from daily obsession to phantom pain.

LG has proven to be the most consistently well-moderated internet forum that I've ever read. Currently, there are only 8 active moderators, and they all (bleep) care.

Happy 20th anniversary, LG!

Whatever happened to uberzev? He was a fun mod. If I'm not mistaken, he also redesigned the site (to what it looks like today) and created all the awesome dancing emoticons!

Monty forgot the Texas memes. Derek Fisher elbow to Ron Artest chest during 2009 playoffs, Dreamshake steaming mad about an elbow to the throat. Monty trolling with memes about body anatomy chart in Texas with neck arrow pointing to the chest and sunshine in Texas as a image of a clear night sky. One of the highlights on LG for sure.
