Say what you will about the value of rebounding in the modern game, but extra possessions are extra possessions. |

I felt like game 2 was the breakthrough of him and ad coexisting. |

Say what you want about him, but these games he has shown he is willing to be much more than just a scorer on a bad team. He is making some big time late recoveries and swats at the rim. He is challenging shots. He is CONTROLLING the glass. He looks physical. He looks like a more reliable Dwight, and I am a big time Dwight Howard supporter.
Now not every series or match up will favor us to play this way. However in this one where we face a physical Ayton-Paul duo with that 2 man game, I think Drummond signing has turned out to be like the Kieff signing last year. It came just at the right time.
With Trez, we just could not have played this way. This is the identity of the Lakers from last year. Physical, big, a team that is impossible to contain inside. So you just have to double and triple inside, while leaving their wings open from 3 (who as we are seeing, are not really making defenses pay). |

Elevator PNR with Lebron is starting to look like an option. Pretty solid game defensive too. |

I have my criticisms, but imagine the Suns with Drummond off their bench instead of Kaminsky. _________________ Under New Management |

He is active out there and you don't feel scared with him out on the top of the key on a switch. Our closing lineup is best with AD at the 5, but Drummond at the 5 helps us wear teams down |

Nice, solid defense and rebounding tonight. His hands are what they are, but he was certainly frustrating the Suns with his D. _________________ "One thing I admire about Kuzma is his unwavering confidence. He truly has no idea that he’s not as good as he thinks." - Killer_Z |

Vogel is doing a nice job of using Drummond and Gasol as a tag team at the center position and making sure the other teams feel their big heavy ass bodies. It’s having a massive cumulative effect on the suns rebounding as they have gotten killed in the last two games. |

Some of that is our passes though. We forced some passes yesterday that were just not there. Bron was rushing sometimes.
The good - Unlike last playoffs with Howard and McGee, we trust AD2. We go to Andre a lot, and look for him. Maybe because he is more aggressive or maybe we view him in higher regard. Not sure. But we certainly feature him.
The bad - We can TO the ball and botch more plays trying to get him the ball or him finishing the play.
I think the key is to be more patient and not go for the obvious pass right away. Let him get in better sealed position. The chemistry, again. It is just coming now. Finally. So we are almost like trying to develop chemistry on the fly.
I do believe, if Bron-Drummond. If they run that 2nd unit with AD2 up high setting a screen and three floor spacers, that defenses will have a very hard time to defend that if Bron drives a bit more. Bron did not do it as much until the 2nd half. But if he attacks the basket on those situations, it makes it much easier for Andre to get looks. |

This is why I'm excited, I can see it developing. Combine that with Schroeder shooting the 3 better (most were short I think which points to conditioning) and LBJ healing bit by bit and finally the Lakers will look like themselves. |

Look at Drummond's body language, this dude is on cloud 9 playing for the Lakers.
The chemistry is coming along nicely. |

re: Drummond as a screener. He is such a big strong body that as long as he's stationary (no moving screen) he can get anybody open. I saw Bron, AD and Schröder all get downhill as a result of his screens.
Love his rebounding as well. Offensive rebounds = extra possessions and more pressure on the defense.
Anything he gives us point wise is gravy. |

In those mini-movie clips the Lakers on YouTube channel, they showed him coming into the locker room after G2 win and the dude was like 9 years, Lakers baby. He’s loving being on a serious franchise. |

He’s been looking a lot more comfortable out there. No silly reaches this game. Just don’t throw him any bounce passes and we’ll be good. |

I was hoping Dwight would be our starting center for 3-5 years. Now that has to be Andre Drummond. He, more than most, knows what it is like to play for a loser. I cant imagine he would be ok ok with leaving this situation that is perfect for him. |

Drummond and Gasol are the mighty ducks version of the bash brothers. They are going to play super physical, most likely foul out, but will inflict serious punishment in the paint and on the boards. |
