No coach is winning with AD limping around and LeBron playing at maybe 65% with the majority of the role players slumping miserably.
That would take a REALLY good coaching scheme.
Bingo.
Vogel is solid. You guys need to quit pissing & moaning.

I do think he warrants some fair share of criticism. Last year, I thought he did a great job with his substitution patterns with role & starter players. The team had a lot more continuity & obviously good health.
This year, he probably experimented with lineups all year long without having solved for any that worked. Game 4 of the playoffs and he’s starting a lineup that has never played with each other in the season when AD went down. We have one offensive system - give AD & Lebron the ball. For the entirety of the season, we don’t have a single lineup we trust to at least hold the lead while those two are out of the game. We had no offense without Lebron. Phoenix & Utah know what players they can play when their two stars are out of the game. When you experiment all year long and don’t find any lineups that work you deserve that feedback. I think if Monty Williams or Quin Snyder were our HC, they would have handled the cards dealt differently. _________________ Author of James Harden and the Strip Club

A "real" coach would have been able to formulate an offense to maximize our guys when AD or LeBron isn't on the floor. How many injuries have we seen hurt top teams, and yet and still those teams were more competitive than we were AND advanced in the Playoffs.
There's no excuses for the "offense" Vogel tried to implement this year, which was no offense at all. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

The same way it is obvious when we are missing talent at certain positions, it is obvious when the coach is failing at his position. It was obvious that Vogel didn't have an offensive gameplan. He is a defensive taskmaster just like Thibbs and they both deserve the boot.
Last year we had the same problem with a different supporting cast, luckily having older veterans with championship experience (Green, Howard, and Rondo).
You remove the leadership and coaching ability (Rondo) from the team and it's become glaringly clear the ineptitude of the head coach. The proof is in his Orlando stint where Magic fans on forums were also baffled by Vogel lack of planning offensively.
- No offensive strategy
- No offensive schemes
- No solid rotations all year
- Inability to maximize player potential
- Inability to motivate role players
- Lineup dependence heavy on Lebron & AD
- No working postseason defensive adjustments
- No working postseason offseason adjustments
Now we can accept this one-dimensional coach and try to make it work, but let's call a fig a fig. _________________ Stay cool, stay calm, stay crazy!
Don’t be fooled by our success last season. Give credits to him for getting on our players to play defense but he has nothing on the offensive end. Our offense is run by a healthy LBJ and AD, that’s all. There’s no such thing as a next man up for our team becoz we don’t have plan for role players.
Who are the top offensive coordinator candidates out there, that are good fits for Vogel's staff and this roster? _________________ Smrek 2, Nevitt 1, Barkley 0

Interesting video of Gilbert exposing Vogel's offensive philosophy or lack thereof:
I'm not a fan of his takes, but he's dead accurate about not applying enough offensive pressure on a team with a 36 year old Chris Paul as their best defensive player. Said THT was one guy who could changed the tide of the series, simply because guys like Booker and Paul would have to work on the defensive end.
Also said that dropping 2 games to the Heat, a team without a top 20 talent, was a huge warning sign last year.

made some valid points. He complained that we don't have enough shooters for spacing but want to have LBJ/AD/KUZ/TREZ/DRUMM line up
I said it many times, even healthy we are not winning this year. Last year we got extremely lucky. It took us 6 games to beat Miami when Bam and Dragic were injured.
we played gassed out Portland and Nuggets.
No, we can't keep with the coaching merry-go-round. We do need to get Vogel a more apt offensive coordinator though. I seriously believe Rondo was the unnoficial one last year.

Rondo is a genius. He is the reason clips came back from 0-2 down.

we're not getting rid of vogel. dude was just a champion 2 seasons ago. he was blind sided by injuries this year. and as long as LBJ and AD like him, he stays.
we do need a more offensive minded assistant though.
