I know this kid who's starting undergraduate studies at UCLA in the Fall. As most kids, he doesn't know anything about Coach Wooden. I'm thinking of getting him a book: and figured a book of Wooden quotes would be easier read (more likely read) than anything else.

Here are some that I think may be good: which would you recommend?

Thank you.

A Lifetime of Observations would be my pick.

I have my own copy I pick up whenever I'm seeking inspiration or guidance.

I also got the Lifetime Observations book as a gift and I read a lot of it and did a solid skim of it overall (you never have the time you want for reading), but it was interesting enough to hold my attention and it discussed his whole system for a stable life w/ anecdotes and examples of each pillar of said system. It didn't come across as TOO fuddy-duddyish to me, but bear in mind, I was probably 38 when I read it, not 18. At some level, Coach Wooden will feel olde tymey to a teen. He even did when he was coaching actual teenage players, so there's no avoiding it. The kid has to want to pick up what Coach is puttin' down.
