Playing alongside AD, Russell and LeBron, he is going to have a lot of open shots just being in the right spot and not having to be the facilitator roll or the main star.
I’m very excited to have him on the team, he knows this is one of his best opportunities at the stage in his career to get a ring.
I mean, if he generally plays as a sub for Lebron, alongside Russ in the 2nd unit, spacing the floor for Dwight and for slashers like THT and Ariza, then sure, I guess so.

Oh boy. Horrible D and while he can shoot/space the floor... my goodness how he doesn't pass on iso. Send a double, that ball is going up.
Oof.
Vogel's offense can be pretty unimaginative at times. Wouldn't be surprised if Melo bails us out of some bad broken possessions late in the shot clock.
Going up against Bron in practice every day should hopefully keep him sharp. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”
Just for the sake of pissing off the league start him.
All HOF lineup
Dwight
AD
Melo
Westbrook
James
Melo takes the slower of the two forwards.
James takes the bigger guard.
Westbrook the toughest guard assignment.
AD the toughest wing/forward assignment.
Dwight does what Dwight does lol
I mean just for kicks, do it, Vogel. In the RS. Not playoffs.

Playing in The Mambas Home will fire him up!!!
KOBE!
from the way way back machine..
The Game That Kobe Bryant Faced PRIME Carmelo Anthony! Game 1 Duel Highlights 2009 WCF - EPIC!
I wonder if this was a team decision.. not just Rob
Extremely important how Vogel will hide his defensive problems. He need consistent minutes and he need to play with our best defenders. Cant leave him exposed.
Can’t wait to see spot up Melo! Three’s to the dome!!! _________________ “You have to dance beautifully in the box that you are comfortable dancing in.” - Kobe Bryant
Expecting a big year from this dude, 100% he still sees himself in Bron’s level, he’s gonna be in the best shape of his life. At 37, Melo know this is the only chance he got left at a ring. I mean a ring and passing Shaq on all time scoring would put him, gasp, ahead of Barkley? (Jk, I think Barkley is up there with Malone, shorter career)
I have seen him play last year, and while the defense is without question a major problem, his offense is far more consistent and reliable than Kuz was. He is legit 3 point threat not a sometimes one. He has been working on that 3 ball role (catch and shoot 3) since Houston tried to run him out of the league. He realized that was his way back into the league.
Since we do run isolation ball even with Kuz, I think we will see quite quick that Melo is a more reliable Kuz. But, on the flip, we will hate his D. This is on Vogel now, to make sure he figures out when to use Melo, and when not to.

A long time ago (before 2006), I considered Carmelo to be the #2 guy in that 2004 draft, ahead of Wade and Bosh. I thought he would end up having similar impact to LeBron. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
I know this is a Melo thread, but looking at all these other guys just makes me appreciate Lebron even more.
Darko Milicic had been out of the league since 2012, Wade and Bosh retired, Melo almost got forced out of the league and now is a role player, Luke's a coach now, Perkins doing TV..
How can the most hyped up high school player enter the NBA, exceed all expections, and still remain arguably the best player today?!
