Everyone knows Hulk is a 5 and Thor is a 4. Spidey is a 2/3. Cap and Stark battle for who runs the point.

Hawkeye would definitely by my shooter.

This is my all-time team. Can anyone come up with another lineup that can take them? And, none of this "Wilt can play PG, Hakeem at SG, Russell at SF, Shaq at PF" kinda stuff. Like, legitimate positions they actually played in/logged in minutes at.

Kareem obviously is the 5.
Lebron came in as a 3 but has been a 3/4 his whole career.
Kobe is a little undersized to be a 3 (i guess) but him and MJ can swap the 2/3 spots whole damn game and either/or could obviously man the 2/3 spots.
Magic would be a SF/PF now but he historically played 1 his whole career.

The amount of interchangeability would be absolutely insane.

Kobe - 1/2/3
Magic - 1/2/3/4/5
Jordan - 1/2/3
Lebron - 1/2/3/4/5
Kareem - 5

I can appreciate that all time team. My list is not my all time list. Just a list that I think can truly compete with, or even beat your team, but I like your team. It's phenomenal.

Michael Jordan wisely refrained from referring to himself as the GOAT. He knew that he had not seen the other greats before his career to make a comparison. My point is that an all time great team is based only on the all time one has been able to observe, especially in their primes.

That said, here's a team to challenge yours:
5.Wilt
4.Tim Duncan
3.Scottie Pippen
2.Kawhi Leonard
1.Oscar Robertson

Curry
R. Allen
Klay
KD
Shaq

Not sure if they win but Shaq surrounded by the best 3 point shooters ever sounds good.

Are we not allowed to use the same players in the lineup that you're using? If that's the case

PG: Steph Curry
SG: Jerry West
SF: Larry Bird
PF: Karl Malone
C: Wilt Chamberlain

What about adding Giannis Freak at center to those 2017 "Dubs" that had Splash, Durant, Green?

3 - Kevin Durant
4 - Hakeem Olajuwon
5 - Shaq

Overwhelming you with my shooting and size. I can’t see the chemistry working on your team.

A few comments.

#1: The outer suits of Ironman and Batman are not within NBA regulations--they wouldn't be allowed on the court. Also, the shield of Captain America would not be permitted. Without these extra accoutrements, the individuals themselves probably wouldn't be phenomenal basketball players.

#2: With Superman, the NBA would have to change the rule for traveling.

#3: No one has mentioned Bullseye? How about the Flash? Now, he would be an excellent offensive and defensive player.

#4: Lex Luther would be an excellent coach.

#5: The archfiends are probably already members of the NBRA.

I'm thinking the other team would need Mr. Fantastic to setup a defensive perimeter at center-court extending sideline-to-sideline all the way up to the rafters ...

No one could beat a team with Jordan and Kobe on it - they're 1-2 at the same position. There's simply no one in history that even approaches MJ or Kobe at the 2 guard.

But if the rules are that Kobe and Jordan could not be on the same team, then you can construct many iterations of teams that would be competitive. For example:

Kareem - 5
Duncan - 4
Lebron - 3
Jordan - 2
Magic - 1

vs

Wilt - 5
Garnet - 4
Bird - 3
Kobe - 2
Oscar - 1

That's a pickem game.

There are many iterations of a competitive matchup you can form as long as you stick to the rule that Kobe and Jordan can not be on the same team.

What about Wade or Harden?

Man I would pay good money to see Harden getting brought to tears facing a defense that had Kobe and Jordan on the wings. Kobe would shut down his scoring, and Jordan roaming on defense would shut down his passing attack. Think of how good the 90's Bulls were with Pippen defending the point of attack and Jordan roaming defensively - Kobe was an even better defender than Pippen. Harden would finish shooting 30% from the field with a bunch of turnovers.

On offense they would take turns abusing him however they wanted: On an island, in the post, putting him the PnR. Whoever he was guarding would drop 40 on Harden.

Wade wouldn't get disrespected the way Harden would but he's not going to win an individual matchup defensively vs Kobe or MJ, let alone having to score or facilitate an offense vs a defense with both of them on the wings.

Kobe/MJ are top tier of shooting guards all time. Wade is tier 2. Harden is tier 3. That's what is wrong with his game, BTW, and why he will never win a chip as the best player on the team. He is skilled, and crafty, and optimizes his playstyle, but he flat out is lacking in the genetics department. He couldn't hang athletically with Kobe/MJ, or even D.Wade.

In the playoffs when the games get physical, and defenses adjust and key in to take away your strengths, Harden simply lacks the fast twitch muscles to elevate his play to be able to complete on that level.

Without using any of the same players

5, Shaq
4, Giannis(have him guard Kareem on the block)
3, Durant
2, Moncrief
1, Stockton

Winning on defense and paint domination.

It's just dreaming, but how about:

Duncan
Durant
Iguodala
Klay
Curry

This team poses a mixed era fantasy conundrum. The OP's team has a couple big weak areas, maybe three or more things for the Warriors to exploit. My version of the improved GSW could be devastatingly good at attacking the OP's dream team:

Three point shooting differentials, enormous !
Defensive intensity, quickness (Magic Johnson is attackable, as is Curry
Inability to handle a second big man who moves as well as Durant

A great modern team - given today's rules and officiating - has many advantages if facing the MJ dream unit. Floor spacing and sanctions on playing hands-on rough is a killer for MJ's bunch, I think. Magic Johnson could be worn down and broken down defensively in half court by any one of the guys of my offering.

We'd pay to see it, huh ?

Or bench one of Duncan/Hakeem for Giannis, to have more ball handlers

Best versions of below players:

Duncan
Bird
Kawhi
Durant
Pippen

Need the elite wing size and D to match up with all the wings on the the other side, that length to challenge Kobe/MJ shots. Pippen was excellent on Magic in the 90-91 Finals.

Pip/Bird share PG duties on offense, Pip brings the ball up ala Triangle. Durant is one of the greatest scorers ever. Can stay with Kobe/MJ. Duncan at his best is one of the best at floor spacing and playing inside.

Honestly think my team would have better chemistry and probably give them a great playoff match up.
