Doug Eddings is behind the plate tonight and he consistently calls a really wide zone on the outside. Webb is going to get strikes off the plate. It's going to be a rough night for the boys, so hopefully they can minimize the swings low and away. |

Muncy faced him several times, and so did Pollock who might not play. McKinstrey was in the lineup a couple of times and didn’t reach base.
My point is the lineups were significantly different in those games. |
You're correct. I just looked at the game logs of all the starts vs the Dodgers this year (y'know, it's not like I'm going to get any work done today...lol) and yeah none of Betts, Seager and Trea played in any of the games.
The Giants have won all of his starts this year, but we were throwing out the likes of Zach Reks, Luke Raley and McKinstry. |

Hmm, I didn't know that. Explains a bit of their last start, although they still were swinging far too much at a guy who pitches in reverse |

The bullpen has been beyond amazing and I can’t help but think they could be due for a stinker. Really hope our all world lineup shows up and spanks the daylights out of these guys today. |

Not a fan. The first inning is too important, don't want to go with a guy whose not used to pitching in it. |

As much as I like Knebel, I don't really get this move. Urias has been great lately, why mess with what's working? |

Not a fan of this move, either.
Likely so the Giants will stack their lineup with lefties and then you bring Julio in and they'll have to, either, switch guys out or keep the lefties in?
Still think they're being too cute here.
Whatever though...there's likely a logical reason for this.
Let's hope it Knebel can hold it down for an inning or 2! |

Wow. I'd rather see Urias start.
I guess Roberts wants to keep the SF batters off-balance by changing pitchers during the game. |

Me as well.
But, from what I've read, he seems to have his biggest issues in the 1st inning.
Let's just root for Corey K to get us through the 1st and, maybe, 2nd, inning unscathed and then Julio could take it the distance from there.
Or a better scenario would be for the offense to put up a 4 spot in the top of the 1st |

Man scoring multiple runs in the first would relieve so much pressure on Dodger pitchers |

No Tony Gonsolin is what I ask for. Runs are too much at a premium to trust Gonsolin at all. |

If it works out and you have Julio still in there in the late innings and you avoid facing freakin' Lamonte Wade Jr fool (who always gets a clutch hit) in the late innings, then it's genius.
But man, this just opens the door for so much criticism if it doesn't work out. If Julio gives up a few runs in the first inning, what can you do? You went with your best option. But if Knebel gives up a run or more....oh boy.

I think it’s a great move and smells of Friedman. I was asking for this in game 4..even better now. Best case Knebel goes 3 and Urias the distance. Don’t think for a second Doc has the brains to make this move.
This is modern baseball. This is a brilliant move. |

Interesting the Giants haven't put out their starting lineup yet. With Knebel starting they might think twice about stacking the lineup with all right-handed hitters. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

Interesting - SF is actually favored this game at -115. Must be the first time this series. |

Starting Knebel says one thing - I don't trust you Urias to start the game!!!
Hopefully Urias isn't affected by this mind game --
Stupid move despite the analytics... |
