Huge game tonight. A couple of big time shots with the shot clock expiring.

Very good shooting form and very good shooting touch. Besides, he can dribble a little bit as well.

Props. He has a few more games like this, and he pretty much earned his vet min. The fact is, he's getting minutes and trust because instead of playing zero D, he is actually playing defense and rotating.

You're seeing why Rob went with these guys. They are shot makers. Last year's team lacked shot making big time around AD/Bron. No way we win games like this last year without Bron, and AD playing how he is. This is a very good shot making group with Monk, Melo, Ellington, etc. All legit threats.

We just play too much 1 on 1 though, for my liking. Hoping that will change when Bron returns.

Great game Malik Monk!
Monk earned his keep last night vs Miami.

Not only did he shoot the lights out, he actually showed hustle and effort defensively.

Stats: 27 points, 10-13FG, 4-7 3PFG, 3-4FT, 6 rebs, 3 assists, 1 blk., +12.

When Monk gets heated up he can really score the ball!

Monk kind of grows on you. If he listens and learns, he could be a really nice rotation player.

If they play one on one? Monk will win every time, but hield is still a better shooter. Monk is not bad either, and he might just be what we need.

Monk with another solid performance.
This kid can shoot the rock and shows no fear offensively.
His defense is a work in progress. The effort has been there lately and he has improved under Vogel (+8 today).

Stat-Line - 16 points (6-10FG / 2-4 3Pt), 2 rbs, 4 assists.

We have to keep developing Monk, THT, Reaves and maybe Nunn, all season. Be patient, let them grow into their roles. They are all 21-25 age range I think and can still develop into a role. Guys like Bradley, Bazemore, DeAndre are all on the downsides of their careers. Monk, THT, Reaves and Nunn can keep giving you energy and prime athleticism as the season develops.

For a while Monk was unplayable due to D. Then Frank took him aside and he didn't play a few games or very few minutes. He's since come back and played better on both ends.

Hoping we can get that stuff from all the younger guys, because so far all of them (aside from Nunn, since he hasn't played a game) have shown they could be two way guys for us. Biggest thing is energy. We're an older team with older stars and need those young legs around them.

His defense against D-White was good. I can't remember of any lapse this time.
Passing was good too! Thumbs up

Im excited to see what Nunn can bring. Remember he was a starter and 30mpg guy for Miami in 2020, before being reduced to a marginal role player in the playoffs, even having DNP. Tough for a young guy, but then when Dragic went down he stepped up in the finals. Hes got the right mindset i think, and can really be valuable off the bench when we need him. And the other young guys you mentioned ofcourse, we have the right mix of youth and experience and when we are healthy, we will look like a great team

His defense in the preseason was really bad. It seems much improved lately. Overall he's been playing very well.

Yes, I noticed that too, he didn't have major miscues and didn't look lost.

Hopefully the Lakers are able to squeeze some juice out of Sekou as well. Could be a very promising young core moving forward.
