Dismantling a team of defensive team oriented players for selfish chuckers. You asked for it LG. Now drink it in. |
Check the thread I made last season... “Why did the Lakers break up a championship team”... it was a bad decision and it’s gonna haunt us most likely. |
Lebron and AD are not as good, so championship or not, it wouldn’t matter |
that team had great chemistry you don’t break that up, Danny Green and JaVale McGee should be more appreciated by Laker fans because they bought that winning passion. |
I am not going to even waste my time arguing with you about how DG and McGee would made a difference last season or this season. Chemistry or not, you can’t contend when your super stars dropped off.
Just look at how Trezz and DS played this season, and that would tell you we made the right moves, but they just didn’t fit. Same can be said for Westbrook. Whether it is pelinka or lebron, I could care less. |
Schroeder was real good for us until the COVID protocols started to ramp up on him, Harrell would have been a good fit had Vogel used him correctly.. it was a unfortunate circumstance last year.

Stop bring up the team from 2 years ago, majority of them are still here, they just didn’t age well. Can’t we all agree lebron and AD were just that much better that season? |
Not accurate at all. This isn't all about LBJ and AD declining. We didn't let teams go all game scoring 30 points every quarter 2 years ago and that started with solid defense. Our backcourt defense went from league best to terrible, and now we have way too many players not paying attention or coordinating on defense at all, some due to lack of experience, some are too slow, and one or two are either too selfish or too lazy. The squad from 2 years ago played defense on a string so well it was seamless most possessions, a great thing to watch, particularly in the 4th quarter when we never lost leads.
That wasn't LeBron being superman out there on defense, he did well because 4 other players excelled, allowing him to expend energy on offense. AD is likely as good a defender as he was 2 years ago, but you're not going to see it if he has nobody playing help defense, nobody rotating behind him if his man pulls him away from the basket. Then posters complain about AD. SMFH. If you're watching what's happening this is all about nobody rotating anymore because we don't have players committed to playing defense at the 1 through 3 spots, and a high usage low efficiency replacement hindering the offense and sacrificing team D for rebounds while we let other teams score at will. |

I wouldn't be surprised if Frank is gone soon.
If so, I'd bet Fizdale replaces him. He's lead AC & only prior HC on staff + dry external market (bc we're in-season).
If so, expect worse D + similar O, barring them bringing in outside help to aid the O (which they can do now). |
almost like he hired him so it would be hard to replace him. |

It is always easy to try to pin our team's problems on a player or two, but this is more simple than that ........... WE DO NOT DEFEND. What's worse, is we turn the ball over only amplifying our greatess weakness.
Some of these players may not be considered elite defenders, but everyone can still play team defence with some hustle, effort and heart. I do not see that out there from this team. |

KCP-Caruso-Kuz aren't here and WB and a bunch of selfish chucking no defense having players are here instead. Lebron looked good last season before the injury. Im not going to judge him based of off his first game back from an injury.
But really it doesn't matter. We won win crap with this core. |
AD is the one chunking with them. The other team was just praying for us to take the jump shot. |
Dude are other teams idiots to let AD attack paint all game? he scored 31 points . what the hell are you complaining about |
Yes, with 6 rebounds when we were getting killed at the boards. I am just saying he wasn’t aggressive enough on both ends. |

not an effective 31 points, that changes the dynamics of the game. It was more so empty. |
he shot 57%. Only 1 player shot better in this game.
It all comes down to Roster. when you have bunch of old players, how can you play with fast pace? why do you think we suck in 3rd quarter?
when you made a (bleep) trade like 44 mill dollar WB, you have to play fast because when the game slows down, WB can't do (bleep). when playing fast, whole team can't do (bleep) because we are too old. |

Of course it is, lebron barely played this season, and he was Superman until that ankle injury. AD has been far less aggressive on both ends. We had good defenders last season compare to 2020, and it didn’t work out because lebron and AD are not the same. |

He was more so the most effective in the 1st quarter. | I never understood this line of thinking. 31 points is 31 points. Did you want those points made in different quarters? Distributed differently? |

I think Lebron is pacing himself. AD is on and off he actually looked aggresive this game.
WB (bleep) this team up completely. We are playing 4v5 on offense with him out there alongside Lebron and AD. It's harder for everyone to score when you cant play defense and having a low IQ bricklayer on offense.
For some reason we dont like PG's who can shoot and make good plays. 100% we would look like a completely different team if we had a guy like Conley instead of Russ. Hell a guy like Jalen Brunson would be 10x better for this team than Russ. |

Exactly. This team doesn't have to be elite, but we're screwed if they don' try to rotate, help, scrap a little and expend some effort on that end of the court. |

This is what it looks like. I don’t wanna hear about the spacing. Defenses have always shrunk the floor against him. He’s played on rosters with worse spacing in the past and still was able to destroy opposing teams defenses, he just doesn’t have that burst and explosion anymore. |

Just not a good team.
It’s that old, inconsistent team that can’t beat anyone good and relies on some old HoF guy (Melo, Russ or Lebron) to save the day.
Too old and too flawed to sustain anything.

The team played bad, old, WB is a bad fit, but AD was also ineffective, outside of the 1st quarter. The boxscore tells a different story than watching the game. To be honest, he could've had 50 points, if he kept the same energy he had in the 1st quarter. They didn't even adjust, he just stopped going in and was floating around the perimeter, and only had 6 boards. We were getting killed on the boards. Not only AD, Lebron had an empty 23 points today and shot at a high percentage.
There were other issues outside of AD, but we can't act like he had a good game because the boxscore says so. Within the game, The announcer was shocked that AD wasn't as aggressive as he was in the 1st quarter. Wondering why he went away from playing down low. This isn't the only game he choses to avoid dominating the paint or sways away from it. |

It is a sign. It’s also in an effort to sustain his health and avoid injury. Fans need to be prepared to see less drives during the season. |
