Maybe not fools golds after all?
When THT plays like how did against Sac tonight,
I’m not ready to give up on him quite yet.
He stopped shooting threes, put his head down and bullied for high percentage shots in the paint all game.
Stifling defense, just got in the way with every Kings player that got in his path. Minus Buddy but that was more of a team collaboration of letting him go off.
19 points on 9-13 from the field. 6 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals.
Glad he’s showing his true worth and not running away with his new contract 🤑🤑🤑

I'm all for trading him if it's a trade that clearly bolsters us up for the next season or two but if not I have no doubt we'll regret trading him sooner then later.. I know many here don't believe in his shot but I strongly believe he'll be an at worst solid perimeter shooter within the next year or two going forward. He has the natural talent and fantastic work ethic from everything i've seen and heard. He came back this season and had back 2 back stellar games then got in a huge mental funk playing in that Bron and Russ lineup which he should have never remained in for as long as he was.
When a Nunn comes back we will have a young mini core THT, Nunn, Monk, AR15 to balance our aging stars.
Yeah, and add Stanley. It's a role player quality young group, but that's what a team of high usage scorers like AD/Bron/Melo/WB need. This is why I argue THT is the worst fit of all those guys, as he wants to make a lot of plays with the ball, while Monk/AR15/Stanley are willing to be shooters/defenders/cutters etc.

I’d argue it’s already too late unless the Lakers are willing to throw in other assets (like their next available first round pick). Two months ago this trade may have been feasible. But in the last month Cam Reddish has shown his potential as he’s had more opportunity to play. On the other hand, THT has been one of the worst rotation players in the league. And that’s not an exaggeration by the way. The Ringer had an article the other day that identified THT as one of the few NBA players that have actually played worse via advanced stats than the average Covid hardship replacement player.
Other GMs in the league pay attention too. They all know THT has been terrible this year. And he’s being paid like a full mid-level exception player. Lakers fans put far too much hope in the tradability of a late second round pick who can’t shoot and has no discernible skillset aside from slashing (but even then he can only finish with his right hand).
I’d say today is the biggest game of his career. If he can show last game was not an anomaly and we keep this win streak going, the trade him narrative might die down. If Nunn returns and AD is on the horizon, Vogel might be content to roll with Johnson and Nunn as midseason upgrades.
Jokes aside, glad to see him out of his slump. Seems to be scoring with a lot more ease now, particularly with better depth around him _________________ #18 next...
