Disagree strongly, but Jessica Henwick *hachi machi* is the best part of it.

That is all.

John Wick with accents

I admire the John Wick series' obsession with going completely up its own tailpipe with lore and overwrought production design while maintaining a purity of medium shot close quarters combat.

The Kingsman is dumber and less artistic by comparison. The series is the best James Bond parody I've seen (which isn't saying much given how bad stuff like Johnny English has been) without intending to be out and out parody. I find its marriage of 007 aesthetics with teenage boy gonzo fantasy and gross-out humor to be endearing enough when I want to turn my brain off.

I don't know your thoughts on Kristen Stewart, but let me recommend at least the second half of Alien knockoff Underwater (2020) with Stewart and Jessica Henwick running around in very wet conditions.

Have seen it and yes it was wet and they both wore it great. I like Stewart’s vibe more than looks but do like her as an actress.

Jessica for me is next level.

Tom Savini getting disemboweled by zombies in 4K UHD is like seeing through the eyes of God. Shout out to the awesome folks at Second Run.

Werner Herzog has become a meme, and has faced several waves of (deserved?) backlash over the course of his now (tumultuous) 40-year career, but he's one of the greatest chroniclers of nature in modern Western cinema history, and I love that.

Another Bruce Willis bomb/stinker Fortress

Plot

Robert is a former CIA agent who lives a life of tranquility at a secret resort in the woods. One day, his estranged son drives to the camp for a visit -- but he's followed by Robert's old nemesis, Balzary. As Balzary and his squad launch an all-out attack, father and son retreat to a high-tech bunker that has steel walls and advanced weapons.

Left the door open for a sequel.

The duel was average. The casting of the mother and art direction were amazing
There were shots of the mother that looked like a Caravaggio painting

I took the Godzilla collection and through it on my new 5 TB external HD. I look forward to watching it. These movies remind me of when I was a kid and would catch them on cable TV.

I see your Wes Anderson kick. Rushmore is probably his proper film debut, as far as the Anderson voice that we know and love is concerned, but Bottle Rocket is a fun little flick.

Blow Out is tremendous, my favorite De Palma I think; if you like it, make sure to watch the Antonioni film it is based off of, Blowup, as well as the other great Blowup inspired film: Coppola's The Conversation. (Frankly, you should watch them both even if you don't like Blow Out!)

I adore The Last Emperor. So pretty.

While your DL'ing, cop Pakula's The Parallax View. Great paranoid picture that complements Blow Out (or The Conversation, if you end up going that route). Hell, do a triple feature and make your own little paranoia trilogy

Nowadays bath salts cause those kind of scenes. Salt heads are the new zombie.

You ever peep The Return Of The Living Dead pt1 (1985)? Still my fave of the genre, tho for awhile it splintered the fan population between staggering/voiceless/dumb/flesheating vs running/speaking/problemsolving/braineating. It's a good romp tho. Main character Clu Gulager was in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood as the bookstore owner who sells Sharon Tess Of The d'Urbervilles. I'm likelier to believe QT put him in there for being in The Last Picture Show rather than ROTLD, but who knows?

Bath salts? Who comes up with these new ways to get high?

Thanks for the input. I'm downloading those three films as I write this.

My opinion is that it was better than the last one and I got my moneys worth out of it simply because it was on HBO.

Not sure if Get Back qualifies as a movie, but it was a bit on the long side, the restoration of the footage was incredible and watching the Beatles crank out several all time classics from concept to finished product in the span of a few weeks was amazing. And none of those guys had even hit 30 yet!

(jodeke, The Beatles were that new band that made that rock noise that your grandchildren wouldn't shut up about back in the 60s)

Watched "Don't Look Up" on Netflix last night and really enjoyed it. It had a a good balance of comedy, social commentary, and star power.

I have in on my IPTV. It's a bootleg. Video and sound are terrible. It'll clear up in time to Dolby Surround sound and 4K video. It usually takes about 2 weeks. I can wait.

A race it is . . . Happy to say I've already seen it in theaters again, and it was just as lovely the second time. I know a certain cinematographer thinks PTA resorts to lame tricks to get the desired look, but I must say I am all-in on PTA as Director/Writer/DoP.

Soundtrack . . . sublime. I know LP was a real record store back in the day -- you see it in Fast Times -- but the title totally works as a descriptor for what this movie is: a "long play" with the visuals on the screen enhancing the emotions the music gives us, as opposed to the other way around. I mean, Let Me Roll It...? That song/scene is burned into my brain
