Worst season ever. I’ve been watching since late 80s, but really ‘91 got into it…nothing has ever been this bad imo. At least in the most recent dark days, we had young players and potential.

What is it now? A 37 year old, a player who can’t stay on the court and one role player in Reaves?

Some of those 90’s teams where bad.

Sedale was a star.

Big Game was old.

Vlade thought he was a three point shooter lol

I’m ok with Legrampa and AD going into the future. Long story short it’s not that bad to me especially since we just won two season ago but I’m sure you still find way to add to your misery lol

Never saw it as much of a dead end as it is right now. Those teams in the ‘90s had pieces and there was more of asset management back then.

This is the first season I would say is completely unwatchable because we are held hostage by an old star, his agency, his buddy and their washed friends who don’t belong on an nba roster and they wasted all the picks we desperately need to retool.

Only way back to title contention now is to trade Lebron/AD or else it’s going to take a while.

Yeah I’m not following your doomsday path. You want to jump ship go right ahead.

It’s not that bad going into the future.

Where not the Celtics or Sixers. We don’t dump our stars for a bunch of Jordan Clarksons and picks.

Finding any takers for THT and Nunn frees up 15 million. An Not a guarantee Russ is still on this roster next season. There still might be takers and I’m looking at OKC

I’d be okay with Suns and Heat finals.
The two teams who lost the previous two finals.

Dubs and Nets is fine too.
F the Bucks! No team should repeat unless it’s the Lakers lol

Only reason I’d be okay with the Bucks advancing is if there playing the celtics who have been on fire lately but now with Robert Williams out with a meniscus tear hopefully they start getting destroyed

I'm witcha
Mad as hell at Jeannie. The Leprechauns are doing a better job at rebuilding than we are.

Westbrook out here trying to argue with BT

He thought BT was going back down here ended up having to give BT dap because BT is not the one

And now big shot Rob called BT and they are FaceTiming live on TV this is where this season is. This is classic.

When did I say I’m jumping ship?

First step in title contention is to get more dependable superstars. Easiest way imo is trading Lebron/AD.

If they are here next season, that’s fine. Just saying I don’t think the Lakers are a title contender with Lebron as the first option. However we attack it, we need another star and legitimate role players…not pickup basketball players and washed names.

I caught them in 1994-1995 and they took a 62 win team to game 6 in the semi’s. The next year I think could’ve been a run if Magic hadn’t soured the water a bit with his deflated play.

In terms of expectations vs results, this is probably the worst season I've witnessed. At least some of the truly awful Laker teams didn't have the roster to do it, this one actually had a roster that could make the playoffs and just self destructed.

"Double Nickels on the Dime" is one of my favorite albums.

Double nickel on the Lakers not so much.

Love that album.
Big Mike Watt fan.

The man in the van with a bass in his hand

Gotta love Watt. A national treasure.

I love fIREHOSE and his solo career.

I got to see fIREHOSE play in 91.
Met Mike Watt at a gig in Highland Park, CA in 96
Cool guy

Watt is super cool. Super chill guy.

Damn y’all gonna make me love ya guys.
Cool fact: The double nickels vinyl has extra tracks included a different version of Little Man With A Gun In His Hand.
Cool fact 2: Watt has a bass signed by James Worthy.
Not so cool fact: First time i was in a pit was at their show with the BH surfers at Castaic in 92.

My 15 year old son, Jude, collects vinyl. He has 120.
He is trying to find a copy of Double Nickels but it’s hard to find without paying $200+ for.
Can’t wait to find a copy. He loves it!

seriously? i had no idea.
have three of the big SST four
Double Nickels
Damaged
Zen Arcade
missed Meat Puppets Ii

Oh man, this is amazing.

Being from Brazil (and much younger than you guys! ) I never had the opportunity to witness it all.

But discovering those bands was a revelation, it was life changing. Being a 90s kid I kinda backtracked from grunge/alternative rock and went all the way back to the Stooges.

The mighty Bad Brains, Hüsker Dü, Minutemen, Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Dead Kennedys, Misfits, Minor Threat, X, The Germs, Suicidal Tendencies...

Absolutely fantastic. I imagine how wild it was to see those bands at their absolute peak.
The HC scene in LA was (bleep) crazy.

Don Letts made a documentary called Punk:Attitude (which itself is very good). But if you got the DVD - which I did - it came with a second DVD that was specific to the LA punk scene and it interviews Watt and all the other players in the LA punk scene and it's phenomenal. If you can find it you should def check it out.

We Jam Econo was great. You can really sense how the Minutemen were far and above the talent level of any other punk band on the scene. Incredible.
Sad at the end though when D. Boon dies. Has had a last impact on Mike Watt. He loved the man so much. D. Boon was great.

With that said, do you guys like the Subhumans from the UK? I love their stuff too. From the Cradle to the Grave and Worlds Apart are great....and their EP/LP. Love Minor Threat too.
Oh, and perhaps not punk, punk but my son has London Calling and Sandinista on vinyl and the Clash were something special.....

The Lakers won't make the playoffs. It's time for Bron to call it a season. No need for AD to return. Play the youngsters. Let's see who we keep and who we let go. It's rebuilding time.

I'll check it out!

The Minutemen doc, We Jam Econo, is great.
Keith Morris' memoir is a great read, highly recommend it.

We Jam Econo was a more than a doc, it was (is) a lifestyle.

And I remember D. Boon died (because of course I am old). I read about it BAM magazine. I cried straight up.

Doncic looking to hang a double nickel on the Lakers tonight.
