How long until the Front Office and Klutch trade him for an over-the-hill former all-star?

i think he is already better than THT, and much better than AC will ever be on offense.

The good news for the Lakers is that Austin Reaves is on a cheap team option next year. The bad news is that he hits free agency the next summer, and if he keeps playing like this, he's going to get PAID.

At 24, he'll be entering his prime, so I expect he'll have a much larger role next season. Wouldn't rule out 12-15 ppg on good efficiency. It does make the potential loss of Monk much easier to deal with.

well, if he keeps getting these monster tiple doubles, yes, but otherwise, i can see him getting 10 mil like THT which is not a lot consider the cap expansion

Him, Malik, and THT have made the last 3 games enjoyable. Love this kid.

Only guy that played 100 percent every possession.

Hopefully he hits the weight room this summer. Good stuff HBK!!

At least one bright spot of the season. He’s a guy you definitely want to keep longterm. The stuff he does well lead to wins.

His triple double was ten times more effective than any triple double WB had for us.

And when we talk trades …. Guess what all GMs will want? Reaves. 2027 pick.

Winning basketball player. Don’t have too many of that currently on the roster.

Mike Trudell _at_ LakersReporter

Austin Reaves just joined Elgin Baylor (1x), Jerry West (2), Magic Johnson (7) and Lonzo Ball (2) as Lakers with a triple-double in their rookie season.

Great game by Reaves tonight. Loved the first quarter rebounding in particular.

The only current Laker I wanna see on this team next season. Imagine if we didn’t have so many dark clouds on this team and he was able to properly get his feet wet.

Got to find a way to keep him out of all the WB trade talk. There will be a lot of trade chatter need to keep Reaves out of it. This game didn’t help. Team Lebron will be pushing him and the picks out of the door and Pelinka probably obliges so he doesn’t suffer Franks fate in a year. Can’t scapegoat the next coach in a year.

Austin Reaves tonight:

31 PTS
16 REB
10 AST

He’s the first Laker rookie with a 30-point triple-double since Jerry West.

Not bad company to be in. Also Jerry West is the player I said Reaves should watch a lot of tape on at the start of the season. I still feel that way.

I really hope he stays for the next 10 years. The main reason I enjoyed some games this season was him.

But I'd accept trading him + WB for someone like.... Luka Doncic+1st maybe?
